Will Bright, 10 Nov 2014why there are so many people who said BB os is the most adv... moreI don't get your opinion. Yes, some people don't care what kind of phone they have got as long as it works. Others, merely are attracted to various aspects (OS< Camera, physical sturdiness, aesthetics etc) , they write their comments here. What BlackBerry's financial situation has anything to do with anything here?

Will Bright, 10 Nov 2014why there are so many people who said BB os is the most adv... moreAs you said, it depends on what you value. The reason why some people say BB OS is great is because it is great in the aspects that they value. The BB Hub is one great innovation. IOS doesn't have it nor does Android. WP has the closest equivalent to BB Hub and it's the People's Hub but it's only for social networking (FB, Twitter) and IMs.
For me, rating the mobile OSes, I would have toss-up between BB and WP at the top with BB edging out WP. Then IOS and Android is last. Why do I place android last? Because of security. When you allow application developers to take control of your keyboard (keyboard replacement apps), that is already a big sign that you don't value security. Apps that can control your keyboard can log your keystroke. Logging your keystrokes means logging your password. IOS just followed Android by allowing 3rd party keyboard applications. WP doesn't allow this and doesn't even allow you to take control of the SMS Messaging services (you need to get accredited first) while in Android you could easily take control of the SMS Messaging services.
Again what you value is different from what other people values so your opinion may vary as to what the top OS is. But given that I value time (how fast is it to respond to an email? how fast is it to navigate around? etc.) and security I find that BB OS is top, followed by WP 8.1., then IOS and lastly Android.
IMHO.

Anonymous, 10 Nov 2014Maps work perfectly fine, even Google maps work fine, best ... moreWhen it comes to Blackberry Assistant, it is definitely better than Siri. But I have to admit Cortana is the best so far.
I own both a Blackberry Passport (primary phone) and a Lumia 1020 (secondary). And I ditched my iPhone 5s already in place of the BB Passport.

Been using the phone for almost 3 weeks already. I shifted from iphone 5s. I've already settled in to this phone and the BB Passport is one great phone. As a first time BB user, I didn't know what to expect of the physical keyboard, but I would say that it was executed very well. And the capacitive keys make swiping up (to complete words) even faster. Typing a whole e-mail is now possible. Previously, I would only use my iPhone to view my emails and to reply short responses such as "Noted." or "Ok." but for business emails where such responses are not appropriate, I would have to whip out my laptop to write the e-mail. Now I don't have to as I can write full e-mails with ease.
The battery life is also superb. Being a heavy user, I would get a day's worth of battery (I know some have been getting more but this is a big improvement already shifting from my previous phone). I have LTE, WIFI, NFC, Bluetooth and Location services all turned on. I used to turn some of this off in my previous phone to conserve battery, but turning it off also makes the phone "dumber" as I was sacrificing some features to get more out of the battery. With the Passport nothing is sacrificed.
The Hub is one great innovation. Initially, I thought it was the same as the WP 8.1 People Hub, but it goes beyond that. While WP8.1 People hub is more for social, IM and Texts, the BB Hub goes beyond that and it is the center for everything from e-mails, notifications, social, IM, etc. And the way it was executed, reduces the time it needs to respond/take action/etc.
The Blend is also one great feature. Again, I thought it was the same as Samsung Kies (am a previous Samsung S4 user), but it goes beyond that too.
Only drawback is the apps. Although I have already installed 90% of the apps I have in my IOS, and all have been running smoothly. Installing of SNAP is essential. Which I think will be a drawback for some who would not know how to install the SNAP application. The SNAP application is basically a "Google Play" substitute and it allows me access to all the apps in Google Play. The 10% of the apps in my IOS that I couldn't install to my Passport where in SNAP but somehow it would not run properly or would have some hitches. I found the 10% that were lacking to be non-essential (with majority of it being games). So I would say all of my essential apps in my IOS is already in my BB. Either via Blackberry World, Amazon Store and SNAP. I search my apps in that order, meaning I look for apps first in BB World if not found then in Amazon Store and sill if not there then SNAP.
Currently my Blackberry Passport is my primary phone and my Lumia 1020 is my secondary phone. The Passport is not perfect but it is one of the best phones I've had. And given that I usually only buy flagship phones, that's already a big compliment to the BB Passport.

I got the phone when it first came out in dubai and used it for a couple of weeks. I had stopped using blackberry for a few years as I orefered the android platform since blackberry had a very limited App Store. The new passport is actually great I liked the size the keyboard and the open source to android apps. The issue I had was that I could not download google play from one market so the android apps on the blackberry were not updates thusnrestricting there usage. It also froze a few times during the day so every time I reset it it took forever to download my storage card. Can anyone advise on how to sort these issues as I thoroughly enjoyed using the phone. The build and screen are awesome.

why there are so many people who said BB os is the most advanced/updated/leading os compared to other os? while the fact is, bb is the slowest one in their pace for competition, and they almost got bankrupt because cannot catch-up with the other. And those bb users claiming that bb os is the best makes all of you no different with other iphone/android users yawning their phone/os is the best. As for me, I don't care whatever the os as long as it suits with my needs then I choose that os whether iOs, android, or windows.
