Anonymous, 09 Oct 2008it nmight have no wifi but it has hsdpa 7.2, twice as fast ... moreIt may have the HSDPA 7.2 and not Wi-Fi. But you will pay for connection through HSPDA and is not free. But Wi-Fi around Home, Office, and Shopping Mall is free. Think. Go take a look at Omnia, Iphone and New Nokia 5800 and say goodbye to Blackberry. Maybe Blackberry have better luck next time.

The key you're going for is lit blue when you touch it, and to key it, you just press it down. Quite instinctive. I was sceptical at first, but very impressed with the typing on it!

In all honesty, the only people who really demand wifi are the sort of people who spend time talking about phones on a forum like this. Hardly the mass market. Blackberrys more than make up for a lack of wifi with the added connectivity you have on their kit and Im guessing the browser experience will be pretty damn good, as it is on my old Curve, a phone I would never consider trading in for anything other than another Blackberry. Im really keen to see the touchscreen typing working as the QWERTY is kind of a neccessity on this type of device and Im yet to be convinced on the full touch. That will be the real decider for the current Blackberry users, who know that a good handset is about functionality not exaggerated specs and use their phone browser for more than playing on Facebook.

it nmight have no wifi but it has hsdpa 7.2, twice as fast as the iphones measly 3.2 and the camera is far better and the screen is amazing it's not a conventional touchscreen. it has small 'domes' that click in when you use it and it also has suretype, seen mostly on sony ericsson's these days but it's a handy tool. this is my next phone regardless.

I never liked them and I guess this time too. Now you can do business push mail and so on with most of the phones anyway. Blackberry is phone in past.

Well done Rim, I like the specs (dont worry the lack of wifi doesnt concern me at all) my 8310 has exceeded expectations and Im sure I will enjoy trialling the 9500 and hope to sell as many of these as I have your other Blackberrys which is my phone brand by choice!

toi, 06 Oct 2008another iphone wanna be.Wanna be? Really? Let's see. Can iPhone Copy/Paste? Nope. MMS? Nope. Real Push E-Mail? Nope. A workable keyboard? Nope. Better than 7 hour a day battery life? Nope. Expandable Memory? Nope.
The Storm has a Higher Resolution Screen than the iPhone. True Bluetooth Connectivity. Usable 3.5mm Headphone Jack on the first try. And traditional BlackBerry battery life and messaging experience. I would say innovator, not imitador.

Also, when travelling abroad wi-fi is much more convenient as roaming 3G plans are very very expensive.

Seems interesting, but no Wi-fi is strange for a business device. This lack is in the same category as first iPhone who did not have 3G. Strange design decisions. Nokia 5800, which is mostly a multimedia device, beats this device on business features ... and that is not normal. Wi-fi is kinda vital for a business man. I still cant believe the Nokia 5800 will be 279 euro + taxes ... must see it first to believe it :) Sounds too good to be true with all those features, even if it's less responsive than iPhone.

I am little unsure how anyone can leave a review on here about this phone, and especially slagging it off considering it hasn't even been released so no one has seen it yet. Things I can say are that BlackBerry's are the most advanced handhelds on the market, and the people slateing them either haven't used one or haven't given them a chance. They are a completley different device than the standard mobile phone, so yes the first time you use one you will probably want to chuck it out of the window as you will have to learn something completely new. But, after the first couple of days or at most the first week you will be in love and you will never look back, other devices will seem basic and old, and you will become completely attached to the phone and wonder how you got though your life without one. I got myself a BlackBerry fell in love and so far have converted around 50 people or more in the last few months. And as for wifi not being listed on the device, so what? Vodafone have got this device on their website and from what their internet packages look like then you can basically get unlimited data for a small price at the fastest speeds availible of 7.2. I can't wait for this to come out, if it does what it says it will and looks as good as the pictures then it will be the best phone to ever come onto the market.
