kamruddin785, 14 Apr 2009Hi users. can anyone suggest me which one is better among H... morei have tried all of it in stores phone demo, and my friend's has 2 of those. all the phones has almost similar specs,
i will go for the blackberry storm and htc touch HD.
omnia is very slow, the touchscreen is really not responsive. its really hard to use if you dont have a stylus.
x1 is also slow, the touchscreen is also not responsive but the good thing is it has a qwerty keyboard ad a stylus, its a big help if the touchsreen is not that responsive.
htc touch Hd and bb storm are better..
HTC touch HD beats all of them in specs, it is similar to x1 and omnia's specs but it has better camera, better touchscreen, bigger screen size and a bit faster than omnia and x1.
the blackberry storm is unique. it has a much responsive touchscreen than the 3, because it has capacitive touchscreen, but a clickable touch. wherein the whole screen is a button to press.
i have tried it and its good. you will not accidentally select something because if you tap it, it will only highlight and will not select until you push the whole screen like a button. i find th storm easier to use than the HD,x1, and omnia. and it has plenty of text editing options, that is why it is easier to manage.
well its your choice, but for me blackberry storm and htc touch hd is the winner.

Hi users. can anyone suggest me which one is better among HTC touch HD,X1, BB Storm9500 and Omnia i900 in respect of 1.battery life 2.Speed 3.Lots of Options so that I don't get bored 4.Camera (I like Xenon flash but HD has no flash even!!is the picture quality bad in HD compared to others?)-please use rating against every criterion with your opinion.
I prefer X1 but I am bit reluctant for the width of the phone. I prefer a phone which has a modest ratio of length and width for instance apple iphone so that I can read my docs and view my pictures more smartly. For this I prefer HD. Is there any difference in viewing the docs in different OS? I have gone through the specifications of the above mentioned 4 phone sets and it seems almost same specifics (processor, RAM mostly). I think everybody trusts practical experience more than those written specifics. another thing is I am not concerned about the prices rather quality. but if I get same quality in the two different priced phonesets for example I will go for cheap one(surely everyone does this :))
in my country the prices are:
HTC HD: US $771
X1: US $614
Omnia i900: US $528
BB Storm9500:US $542
Please suggest.

There is a minor error in phone`s specifications.
The GPS function can be used as a stand alone application with trekbuddy and google maps or openstreetmaps , no A-GPS needed.
I bought this phone last week it is simply awesome but apps community is still small.
Altough it has some problems with screens fitting its a litlle hobble .

Jackson if you buy your phone in store you DO NOT get the 14 days cooling off period. You only get that if you buy a phone from Voda phone call center as then, according to them you dont get the chance to see the phone, where as in store you can see and use the phone. BLACKBERRY is too much of a RUBISH to get to know in few minutes.
When i first bought it i thought thats fine i will get used to it but getting used to mean using something in slightly differet way if i want something and it is just NOT HAPPENING then there is no getting used to it.
Mr kumar from InDiA its NOT ok not having WiFi you probably dont travel out of your "home" much but i have to travel all over the world for business and if i am out of UK it costs me £4.99 for 1 MB download through voda phone.. imagine that... i can not get onto cloud at airports or my hotel or in my forigen office. if i recieve an email and it has an attachment then i have to use £4.99 / MB download ... and mind you Voda phone is one of the cheapest for international data useage.
Blackberry is RUBISH, buy it and you will find out.

@ Sangeen... Vodafone UK do give you 14 days cooling off. I am with them and have taken advantage of this recently on a phone I had with them. You have 14 days to return the phone, no questions.

Hello I am Vivek Kumar Aurora Tel Consultant in INDIA and i have used all the Models every week my Views regarding Strom is Very positive .
Yes it is not like apple iphone but this is a different tech (Press Technology) which u see in ATMs etc and working on this device is easy not so difficult .Yes it take couple of days to get useto of such a great device .This is first Touch Screen by Blackberry Come on guys dont you feel that it is really good .
Regarding WIfI its ok i think if some one is using Blackberry they take Unlimited Plans so it for of no use saying Wifi is there or not .
Its for those person who know how to use this phone not for KIDS who want to do every thing on phone apart from Work
I will give 08/10
Thanks

Hi guys,
A word of advice KEEP THE HECK AWAY FROM BLACKBERY STORM. I MEAN IT.
It’s the worst handset I have ever used in my life and I have used MANY. the sure touch is utter nonsense my fingers are big and when I am pressing a button I cannot see what’s being selected under it, it takes me 5 minutes to just type few words and I cannot even use styles with it as it will only work with “extremely” thin fingers. The whole click touch screen is rubbish you cannot even highlight or copy paste anything.
The email feature, that I pay £4.99 for, stopped working after the first day. I went back to store they made me wait for 50 minutes and then after a lot of calling around handed me the phone back saying that the blackberry server isn’t getting connected so that was a dead end. On top of that it is an EXTREMELY slow phone.
Blackberry should concentrate on the design of the phone then just silly marketing gimmicks and try pushing the phone through some real user friendly features. I bought it from Voda phone, which does not give you the 14 days cooling off period, and now I am stuck with it for 18 MONTHS.
Guys WATCH WHAT U GET INTO......

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2009I have been in the wireless industry for over 15 years. Ne... morehey you are wrong about text editing. you can edit the text and believe me its easy to edit the text in storm than other touchscreen phones. the storm has good on screen keyboard, dont just say things that you are not sure, other users might believe in it. you should try searching more about it rather than complain because it has many hidden tips.
these could help you...

I have been in the wireless industry for over 15 years. Needless to say I have used so many different devices over the years I have lost track. I would also state I am a huge Blackberry fan. However, this device is not even close to the hoopla surrounding it. The clickability touch screen is difficult to get used to. You can't edit text in the middle of a word or sentence. Navigation between fields is cumbersome and extremely slow. The most irritating thing is the swivel screen, i.e. if you hold the phone vertical the screen icons should be vertical...right?? WRONG! Constantly the screen is tilted in the opposite direction the device is sitting or being held in.

i tried this in a store, it was unlock blackberry storm, i was testing it. the sure press touch screen is not bad at all, i was watching videos on keyboard tips these days and i was able to do it. maybe those who did not know the keyboard tips will not like this, and will try to find it hard texting and typing. but i think seems pretty good. i think i'll buy one soon.
