damn, so there have been numerous updates since the official launch. Four to be exact, and the software is beginning to catch up to performing the way it should. Ahem, too bad for the people who returned it.

I have a storm well i unlocked it and im using it on tmobile and it works just fine i can do without the wifi because i have a nokia e71 and n95 if i need wifi but the phone in my opinion is the best touch screen device out yet it has a 624mhz processor which most fones cannot compete with for goodness sake the phone just came out a month and a half ago give it sometime i used to work for apple and the iphone right out the box had a firmware update and it has had over 7so far and that 3g chip in the phone isn't a standard 3g chip so have fun trying to keep your signals strong hahahahahahahaha

The lack of wifi is hurting those consumers who want to buy unlocked versions of the storm for use on networks other than Verizon. The 3g will not work with most other network besides Verizon, so that's where the lack of wifi really hurts. They're not idiots, this feature was left out intentionally, Verizon charges more than any other provider for Blackberry service, you want internetspeed, they want money, it's pretty simple.

I work for Verizon... morewelll, could the internet from verizon beat the wifi, if u been in wifi area you would use wifi than verizon, wouldnt u, i think that the reason why wifi so important. and also verizon can't reach in ground floor.

Anonymous, 31 Dec 2008Does this phone have stereo speakers??. Is it a dual sim phone??2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 2100
I hope that answers your question. If the phone is locked to a carrier, you would have to notify them to unlock it or activate the sim, not too sure about that. However, YES there is a slot for a sim card, to put simply.

The screen real-estate is definitely what sold me on this phone, and the sure-press. It's too bad that the firmware couldn't make it on time when the units were released, thus further crippling it's reception by the consuming public.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see future firmware updates evolve to a much more fluid touch-based User Interface. Perhaps the same concept as HTC's touchFLO 3D to hide winmo's shortcomings, doubt it though b/c RIM will do WAY BETTER. If you absolutely want this phone, and sure of it, then congratulations on this very cool phone. It performs very well (just bit under excellent) out-of-the-box. Just don't expect a whole heap of third-party applications for it right now unless you really dig through the web you might find a free copy of niintai.

This phone is awesome. The phone has been patched up with updates and I have no problems with the glitches or freezing that was reported when it launched. Great web browser, wifi who cares its on the worlds best 3g network. Stop complaining about the wifi and just pay the 30.00 for the data service. Sure type does take a little while to get used to but its not that complicated. Email is great too.

I agree that Verizon sucks but T mobile! I'd rather have a snail run my network. They are so darn slow...
You must be blessed with patience. i personally have one life to live and i wouldn't offer any part of it to the T mobile network
nothing personal. I'm just a(n) ATT person.
