is there any way to block someones messages? if i want to get bb services then what are the charges for use yahoo messanger,google talk, facebook,twitter and GPS?

do i need the blackberry services to use yahoo messenger and google talk and facebook? i have wi-fi but it doesn't work on these softwares and do i need bb services to use GPS?

I have had this phone for about 3 days now and its flawless.. I love it to bits...I've had BBs from the Storm to the bold and this is just perfect.. A MUST BUY!!

Please find hereto my reply to all of your recent queries and my full detailed preview , posted some days ago.
QUERIES:
1. Idea gprs will work, but you will not be able to use BBB services, u can browse email thorugh your default email provider like gmail etc on the Browser.
You can,t have BB type email service, neither BB messenger etc.
2. It does have Google talk and yahoo messenger, font is ok to read, but it doesn't support calling from gtalk and yahoo.
3. Slider of the phone is one of the best, it does not wobble at all, and those who say it does, I don't know what do they do with their phones.
4. The Phone does heat up a bit, when your listening to songs or watching videos, bt it is very minimal.
5.Yes the BB Torch fetches pics of your friends from FAcebook, and you are able to see that picture when someone is calling.
6. BB Appworld is great and does the work pretty well, there are thousand of apps, free also.
NOW COMING TO THE FULL DETAILED REVIEW:
HI people . I am writing a full review of my blackberry experience. I purchased a torch about 4 days back and I have to say that I love this beauty.
I have used before Iphone 3g, bb 9700, and many more bt this baby has everything packed in one :
1. Excellent looks, everyone who see's this phone , wants to buy it for themselves.
2. Perfect combination for a young minded entrpeneur , it has great business features as expected from blackberry but apart from that , the Touchscreen , BB messenger and the facebook gives you a unique experience on torch.
3. People who say that the battery life iS bad , I don't know what do they expect from a phone which has a bright capacitive touchscreen and connectivity through edge all the times, bb never sleeps, One whole day with all the phone calls and surfing facebok, emails is enough for me, its like any other phone which I have nought in the past.
4. Those who crib about the price, should try to compare the price with other unlocked phone's prices, I got this phone in India for Rs 27000 but without the bill, but being a blackberry I trust their technology, and saved 5000 bucks.
5, Video quality, touchscreen and the audio is perfect for me.
6. The only thing I dint liked about this phone was the camera, it is very normal, doesn't seem to be a five mega pixel camera at all, bt I cn do without a camera in a phone , I have a SLR canon to take care of that.
My opinion , buy this phone if you can't avoid BB Services and want to experience all the features of phones like Iphone and others. Otherwise go for Nokia N8 or Iphone 4g.

I had a galaxy S for about two months after I had the Storm (which was just a piece of crap) The Galaxy had a great screen and did a lot of things really well but for me, it didn't do the basic things nearly as well as a Blackberry. And the way it handles data (the same as the I-Phone) just bogged it down. I went back to the Torch, and I am incredibly pleased with the phone. Great touch screen, built like a tank, and handles the basics... your phone, email,and don't forget messenger, better than anything else out there.

I have been with all BB's for years and upgraded frequently.
This one is the top for proffesionals and others.
It is fun to work,surf,talk,mail, watch videos and listen.
For the battery, I suggest that you order the box charger with second battery as I did with my previous Bold.
The phone is formidable.

Sold back this phone to dealer only after 1 week using. Not satisfied, keyboard too small. Comfortability way behind by Nokia E90 and my Samsung Galaxy Tab. Have to cramp my fingers while typing. If only they make a bigger Tourch, the phone will stay with me for at least 2 years.

Just a quick question, I need the best possible phone to use gtalk, how well does it work in the torch? And is it possible to make voice calls through gtalk with my blackberry 9800?

Been using this phone for about a week now, so far my review is in between. The battery is not good, i have to always have my car charger with me because it will die by night time. I had a 9700 and to be onest, the 9800 is like the 9700 but with a tocuh screen so its not really much of an upgrade. 9800 is a great phone, but if you want a phone to last all day, not the best choice
