I am using the torch for the past 3 weeks. I have been a BB user for the past 1 year, and for me its a worthy upgrade. The BB torch is an excellent piece of machine and it gives the feel of a really mobile phone. The touch sensitive is very good. On the flip side i feel its kinda a wee bit heavy, and the volume is not as good as bold but apart from that its a wonderful phone. Its is ideal for business user or for a moderate consumer. The clarity of the camera is very good.

RIM is moving in the right direction of mixing glamour + features + professionalism. Hope to see a even better prodcut end of this year.

If anyone knows any free sites, where i can download some diffrent themes for the BB torch pls let me know.

Varun, 08 Feb 2011Hi Guys, Im a 1st time blacberry user. Confused which on... moreGo with the Torch, the Storm's screen sucks, the touch and click interface is whack and the 9800 is very well built. The touch screen is also very accurate yet sensitive. I jumped from the 3G to 9800, no regrets.

Varun, 08 Feb 2011Hi Guys, Im a 1st time blacberry user. Confused which on... moreHi

I've had the Storm 2 and I currently use iPhone 4. I'm also considering moving back to the BB Torch. The Storm 2 has a surpress screen so it clicks as you type, the touch screen sensitivity isn't bad but wouldn't say better then iPhone. I've been playing with my mate BB Torch these past few days to make my mind up & the touch screen on the Torch is as good as the iPhones and is better then Storm 2 touch screen. You don't have to slide the keyboard out if you don't want to use it :-)

The Toych is also a capasitive touch screen like the iPhones.

          Hope this helps.

          Cheers

          Craig

            Hi Guys,

Im a 1st time blacberry user. Confused which one to buy, 9550 storm 2 or 9800 Torch??( Somehow not convinced for sliding type in 9800).
I am using an iPhone 3G now. How is the touch screen perfomance when compared to iphones???

I was using Iphone 3G. But since I have switched over to BB 9800 my experiance has been awesome. Its a powerful phone with a good battery backup. People who have used iphone will like it.

One of the best phones i've used. I had option of either IPHONE 4 or BB 9800 and i opted for 9800. Tried using both of them at the store and realised that 9800 is far more better than any of its competitor inthe market. I sold my HTC legend and bought this one. And i must say that BB is the best company out there in cellular market. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS HANDSET.

battery life is awful, but i'd happily charge it every night as it's that good.

What so funny is that I used all different types of phone, and I told myself that I don't want any blackberry phone, until I got one and the service providers here in jamaica, have an internet packages that was great, so I divorce all type of phone and started to use blackberry, well, except my lg km900 arena, which I bought for my christmas in 2009, well, I used every blackberry in that created, which is in gsmarena, and I now have a bb torch and bb bold 3, I love blackberry, and I can asure you that blackberry is the most used in jamaica, in the caribbean. Thanks blackberry and I am looking out for torch 2 please hurry up. Features that I want on the torch 2 are: the keypad slides sideway, upgrade to 16-32 gb internal memory, 8-12 mega pixels camera, having radio and internal camera, I think those are the upgrades I want, then definately I would by it, no matter what the cost is... Oh another thing, dual sim reader, so I can use 2 service provider at once. Thank you blackberry and keep on making good phones.

I've used BB's in the past and I am currently using the iPhone 4. I find the main thing that keeps me hooked to an iPhone is the iPod functionality, I like that all in one device.

I like BB because it feels like a real mobile/cell phone, it's professional has a fantastic email experience, notifications are great. I'm not a business user, I'm a consumer user when it comes to mobiles/cells so I know BB are aimed at business users and iPhone consumers, however these days BB's have all the fantastic features that a consumer likes to use.

I have learnt that putting music on any mobile/cell device other then iPhone/iPod that it just ain't that good. I have linked my iTunes with a BB device in the past and although it gave great sound, it just didn't feel right. Also most recently I was given a HTC Desire HD and linking itunes music to that device was extremely horrible, Half my music waqsn't supported etc. I never had that issue on the BB linked to iTunes, just that album artwork didn't all sync. Just for that It turned me off wanting to store music on any mobile/cell device other then an Apple product.

Now, I'm really liking the BB Torch, I love the fact that it has a touch screen and keyboard so I am considering whether to sell my iPhone 4 and get the BB Torch and get a Nano/iPod seperatley for my music. I also think having a 16GB Nano would be easier to take to the gym with me.

What are your suggestions or anyone else here think, Is it a good idea to seperate my music and mobile issue or keep it all in one.

I also have an iPad that I use everyday to and from work, so I now rarely use the apps on my iPhone cause I use them on the iPad. I also really only use the iPhone for talk and text and the occasional email. I believe if I had the BB Torch I would use the email only on there and not the iPad but have it linked to the iPad as a back up.

So thoughts everyone, seperate it all or keep it all together.

                                Cheers

Not exactly sure why it double presses but it is as irritating as hell! The worst is when it double spaces and puts a . in the middle of a text or email. Other than that, Blackberry is pretty sweet.
