Hi everybody! I'm here to review this device, just not any review this review will tell you about why should or shouldn't you buying any blackberry devices.

The Blackberry Torch 2 9810, has a beautiful form factor, which is a slideout device with a conceled QWERTY Keypad and a nice egronomics for a plastic body device. The phone has a nice 3.2" screen which isn't the biggest in its class for the price you pay (you can get bigger screen devices in the market.) the device has nice sheen to it thanks to the metal paint kind of finish on the plastic which makes it feel premium. The slider mechanism in the phone is the best I've come across in a long time, the last phone I used was LG Quantum Windows Mobile device, the Torch 2 slide mechanism also works well when you receive a call sliding it up, connects the call and sliding it down ends the call, the qwerty keypad is good (provided your used to the a blackberry slide phone just like its predecessor the Torch 9800, but for a person of large finger the qwerty keypad can be really spaceless with absolutely no gaps between each of the button, but since the travel time between any to keys is short it makes it the best keyboard to send quick text and emails across. While people with large fingers can find a hard time getting used to.

Thanks to Blackberry's qwerty keypad typing shortcuts is easy which I haven't come across any phone till date. The device screen supports 250 ppi pixel density which makes the screen resolution pretty good and viewing angles are pretty good even at acute angles, the screen is quite visible under direct sunlight, thanks to the ambient light sensor that does a fabulous job of adjusting the brightness of the screen indoor and outdoors (a feature that I dont see anymore.) The device come with 768MB RAM, 1.2Mhz processor 2times more that Torch 9800 and a 5mp camera with really powerful LED flash light. For the price tag, the device isn't worth the penny except for it good looking face, and superb push email service which no other device can matchup to.

I'll not get anymore into the details of looks, lets get down to business. The phone has a really good email client service, blackberry poineered the push mail service, which no other phone offers to this date but, inspite of all the cool features the phone is big disappointment the graphic wise as well the performance wise. Inspite of the processor speed increased to 2times and RAM space increased by addition 256mb the device does tend to hang/freeze at times when you have more than 4 applications running in the backgroud, the phone freezes the most when an application is being downloaded in the background, the phone Appworld does lack a lot of applications but, everybody know that the old legacy Blackberry devices were known for being the best mail service provider than a toy in you hand that you can use to create music, play high end games etc...,

Push mail service: Is the best part of any blackberry device from its first legacy device to today Q5 devices but the only irritating part is, the push email have large loop holes to its architecture the push email service can support mails with attachments not more than 3MB files what does that mean to business man/woman. If your an employee who just receives text emails which you receive and have to reply back to these mail that you receive then this device is perfect does it really well, you receive emails in realtime as they come into your inbox like you were on a computer but, the moment you have to add large attachments beyond 3mb files the pusch emails shows its downfall, the device can't send emails with attachments with more than 3MB from your inbox whether from you pop, imap email etc.. The saddest part is inspite of having the BES/BIS service in India without 3G the service is damn slow the point being whats the use of having an email service a seperate BES/BIS plan to realize you cant send or receive emails that above 3MB on you phone. Neither the BlackBerry World have any good applications with most of the good ones are paid applications after paying you realize sending receiving large files still an issue. Apart from this specific aspect related to receiving or sending email the device does a pretty nifty job. The Battery Back-up with moderate usage last a day with heavy usage (2hrs of calling, sending receiving emails, wifi, listening to music the phone battery last about 8hrs with a 2G connection and 6hrs with 3G connection.)

Bottom Line: For the price you pay the device is under equipped, 1.2Mhz Processor vs the 1Mhz Dual core processor that you find in many android windows phone devices and even if you consider the low end budget phones made by Chinese companies live up the standards.

The phone is ok, but the battery is useless. Battery life is frustratingly short. One needs to charge every 6hrs.

I have had this phone for little more than a year and a half. The phone is pretty good nice UI and good features whether it be the 5mp camera the vivid touchscreen and amazing chat service BBM to name a few. But being a business user for me the most important feature has been emails. But, since couple of months I did notice something bad about the phone.

Like mentioned being a business user I receive lot of email but, over the period I haven't been able to receive large attachments on all blackberry devices that I have with me. After inquiring with the BlackBerry Support I found the BB device to be absolute crap! The push mail may b the best but, the fact that you can't receive any attachment over 2mb makes it really a lousy phone (Some may say using the enterprise service you can increase the attachment size but, again that is only limited to 2.5mb.) So, bottom line is you still can't either download them or see them, the only way would be access your email to web-access over the browser download the file and then use it(Something you should know any file above 5mb takes forever to go out of your sent mails on the device, its so slow you can reach a cyber cafe across the street attach the file send it the recipient get a reply from the recipient and still the email on the device will show up as sending but not sent and probably after hours you'll get a message saying " the attachment is too large for the server to send over Blackberry.")

I have finally moved out to a Windows Mobile device only because you can receive any email with attachment what ever size it will be in your inbox.

Blackberry is for those people who only receive small attachments, or those who are keen to chat with friends using bbm. Otherwise the devices is not worth the money spend.

This review is only for business users!
