lawrence, 07 Apr 2014Hey i want 2 buy the z10 but wonderin if both models r 4g c... moreThe STL100-1 model does not have 4G LTE but in return it has one more 3G/HSDPA band. That model also has a different chipset with dual A9 instead of dual Krait CPU, and a PowerVR GPU instead of the Adreno 225 in the LTE models. You will not notice any performance difference between the two in regular day to day usage, both has 2GB RAM and thats where the smooth operation comes from. I have the non-LTE model and for sure no Android phone with a similar chipset can give a good web browsing experience like this.

          Hi All,
I got my Z10 a couple of days back. Till now, it looks great for me. But lack of navigation app is worrying me.
Can anyone please suggest me a good map and naviagation tool that will work on Z10? I installed Google maps, but of No use, tha map is not working for me. I have also installed "Maps for google" but it's not precise and does not have better navigation options. I regret BB should make it's own Map work in India as well, it's got a big user base here.
          Please help me guys.

Hey Z10 users, i have certain questions about this phone.

              1) android apps work on Z10, but does those apps work flawlessly like the native apps work ?
              2) its pixel per inch is just awesome. But does it retain its razor sharp quality even after Long term use.
              3) many of the videos on youtube mentioned that brightness is too dim, is it extremely dim ?
              4) can we attach pen drive to Z10 through on-the-go cable ?
              5) crackberry discussion forum mentioned that Z10 becomes too hot while playing games, browsing & using the phone for long time. So is it true about heating issue & if its true, can u plz suggest a way to overcome this heat problem.

AnonD-248225, 07 Apr 2014And on flipkart also.....???!!!!Unless this flipkart do grey market import it will be STL100-1. Theres noting to worry about, LTE of Z10 will never work in India anyway and STL100-1 has a very capable chipset, smooth and fast CPU and its not a low end PowerVR GPU but the SGX544. And, theres an advantage with STL100-1, at least for me, and that is quad band HSDPA, more specific it has 1900MHz support which is lacking in the LTE models. I dont know if the Qualcomm model is nicer to the battery though, it could have a slight advantage there.

I bought a Z10 about a month ago. The OS was upgraded to 10.2 right after I go it. The battery would deplete to about 50% over night on standby with network setting in 4G+3G+2G, Wifi on and the location service on. At this rate, I was having to top up the battery in the afternoon to get through the day. That was quite disappointing. I tried turning off the Wifi and location service when they were not in use, but it had little to no effect on the battery life. However, when I tried an old trick, putting the network setting to 2G only mode, it made a world of difference. I got two full days of light usage out of one full charge. I concluded that either Blackberry Z10's 4G radio consumes too much battery on standby or constant signal search during the coverage changes from one mode to another in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia area was draining the battery. I think it is more of the power efficiency of the 4G chip in the Z10 judging by the fact that the battery drained to about 50% sitting at one location, my home, overnight on standby. Whatever the cause was, I am getting a great battery life out of my Z10 with The OS upgraded to the latest 10.2 by putting it in 2G mode most of the time. I toggle it to 4G+3G mode by swiping down the screen from the top only when I browse the Internet. Everything else works fine in 2G mode. What'sapp, email, Waze, and of course phone calls and SMS works flawlessly in 2G only mode giving me two days out of one full charge. I am quite happy with a Blackberry Z10 after I discovered this little trick. This got me to wish that I knew how to build an app that could automatically switch the network mode to the network speed demand and best power efficiency customizable by the user through the app settings. Better yet, Blackberry should incorporate that function in the next OS update. That will make this smart phone so much more competitive in the market.

The price for this phone is really worth it with what you get. Everything is so smooth and fast, and everything could be done with ease without unnecessary hanging which happened a lot with the previous blackberry models.
But there is one major problem; I am not able to send videos which were recorded from this phone, due to the huge size, either through Whatsapp or email. This really brought a huge trouble for me.
