AnonD-69919, 31 Jan 2013get your facts straight. It's a dual-core krait. It's faste... moreon a early dev alpha device i was running .bar files and as i recall as on my playbook you can convert .apk to .bar without resigning or repacking the apps to run on the dev devices.. not sure if it will be the same but maybe android player for the z10 will allow it to run apk files natively

Anonymous, 31 Jan 2013Are people living in the past? I don't see what is so impre... moreSo you're basing BlackBerry 10 OS to Android. Not a good start.
BlackBerry 10 was designed from the ground up to be a new and optimised mobile computing platform. If They wanted to be like Android then they would have just cobbled together any old OS and then had to use ridiculously fast components just to get any kind of use from it.
Personally I would rather have a slick, flawless experience from a smart phone without the need for hot running, power hungry specs. This is why the Z10 runs fantastic and doesn't need any more than a 1800mah battery.
If Samsung and the rest want to be truly ground breaking then they'll have to make the effort to engineer their own OS instead of the lazy option of pulling someone else's OS from the shelf, sticking an extra cpu core on it and calling it the next big thing.

get your facts straight. It's a dual-core krait. It's faster than most quads around. Just gotta wait to see how the OS manages the hardware. If it does as well as Apple then we'll have BB back on track in no time. The screen is small for the size of the phone but still... The question is: does it support apk's as rumoured earlier last year?

The iPhone 5 has HALF the RAM and a 1,2Ghz DUAL-CORE processor but it runs smoother than all Androids with 8-core 1,9Ghz and what not. It's a matter of needs and the BB Z10 does NOT need bigger power drainers. Cheers :)

The final nail in the coffin for Blackberry; These are Spring 2012 Hardware Specs. Their R/D + Manufacturing and distribution is far behind world standards. It’s a matter of time... R.I.P

dumb daughter wilbuy, 31 Jan 2013Ooooooh a dual core krait with adreno225 graphics, welcome ... moreBecause BB10 needs the specs that Android phones need to get the same performance. Not. This is why Android fanboys will never understand why iOS runs smoother than their phones.

max, 18 Jan 2013It's 2013 and RIM makes phones with specs from 2010.That's ... moreOoooooh a dual core krait with adreno225 graphics, welcome to last year!!!!
Yeah, start off a complete generation behind....modern krait chips come with quad cores and a modern graphic chip, adreno320, but hey! let's have half the speed! Woot
Wow look at that screen take about half the frontal area of the phone, making a phone with a much smaller screen just as big as HTC one-x which has a much larger screen.
Well done BB, you are awesome!!
