I bought my BLU Studio 5.3 S back in November of 2013. There are a few issues that I have with it, first of all my carrier is AT&T I thought this carrier would be okay but I don't think it was a good choice I can't pick up good signals in areas where I should. Second I have a battery cover issue, I can't find one anywhere I just contacted the company I bought it thru and I contacted BLU products directly to see if one can be found. The piece for the volume control has fallen off, don't know if anyone else has had that issue, but I am starting to get discouraged. I did find on on another web site but it has another piece with it which I do not need and it is $ 30.00 don't want to pay that much for two pieces when I only need the one. But If I cannot find the battery cover I will not get a phone by BLU products again until they start selling the parts for it .

A very nice phone for the price, great specs, great display. My only problems is that there is no notification light and the original icons looks very cheap not crisp like a Galaxy! But all in all works well! Internal storage can b improved

I have this phone now for just over 5 months, for the price of it, it works ok with just one exception. For some reason i found that lately some of my stored pics are showing up as a black background...this does not happen right away..maybe after a day or so. I haven't found the time to investigate this issue fully as yet. Otherwise, everything else seems ok with the phone.

I have the 5.3S and love the phone. The only issue I have is that I can't get MMS. I'm using Straight Talk. Is there anyone out there using ST with this phone that is actually receiving MMS? If so please provide your APN settings. Thanks in advance for any help provided!

Note: I called ST and they provided their APN settings off their webpage & I'm still unable to receive MMS.

PB, 21 Dec 2013H means 4GI have to respectfully disagree. These phones don't have 4G capability, but in some areas their higher 3G Platform, (HSDPA/HSUPA) is closely rivaling the 4G basic network.

One reason BLU stayed with the 3G network is the much higher cost of instituting 4G on their phones, not to mention the red tape involved to get it. It would've taken years more to get up and running.

We'd see a much higher cost on these phones if BLU had went with 4G. I'm aware that some sellers have tried to pass it off as 4G though, and they are very wrong.

JPM, 13 Dec 2013What does the "H" display mean for the type of da... moreI've been doing a lot of research on these phones and this is how I've come to understand the HSDPA Data. HSDPA is the highest level 3G network anyone will ever get (so they're saying)...It's actually about 3.75G, and the next level is 4G. 4G still has a way to go, as the 4G you're seeing right now is actually only the "base" network of 4G and it's nothing like what we'll really see in the years to come. 4G is a separate infrastructure and is being built from the ground up. It will be several years before 3G is phased out, so the 3.75G HSDPA still has a lot of juice in it...of course it's not as fast as the base 4G (4G LTE as some call it) but depending on your carrier and the reception you get, there's those who have no complaints what-so-ever.

OTOH, this particular group, "BLUE STUDIO" has 5 different releases to it, all with different/similar CPUs, Batteries, and memory. Hard to keep them straight, but they do make a difference.

Add to that, there's some Global releases as well, that are getting shipped to the USA and vice-versa, which accounts for many of the complaints with phones not working. Many Global phones don't work on the USA's network. That's not just the BLU Product though, I'm seeing that with major brands as well so be very careful.

Hope I haven't confused you more.

What does the "H" display mean for the type of data connection? Most phones show G, 2G, 3G, or 4G for the network data rate they are connected to. I have no idea what "H" means.

I've had this phone for about 3 months. All in all, a great phone. Awesome display, battery life, and pretty good specs. as for the service, in my area, AT&T kind of sucks. Another downfall is the camera. Most pictures come out fuzzy, but if you download the JB+ camera from Google's Play store, it will make it a little better. When I pull it out, everyone's reation is,"Look at the size of it." It is maasive, but I have smaller than normal hands, so it makes it a little difficult for me to handle this phone with one hand. I would have to give this phone 7.5 out of ten stars.

Overall I like my phone. It is faster than my Nexus 7 2012, but slower than my wife's Galaxy S4. It has a fast processor and a very nice display. I wish it had more internal memory 1.4 GB usable for apps. I have a 16 GB micro SD card expandable to 32 GB. It is a very nice phone. The salesman who sold us the Galaxy S4 had the Galaxy Note 3 and was very impressed at the performance for the price. I give it 3.5 stars out of 5. Does anyone know if Cyanogen Mod is availble for this phone?
