I put a lot of research into buying a new prepaid phone last week, and so far I have to say i am extremely satisfied with this phone. As an iPhone user, I was initially hesitant to purchase a mid-range android device, but I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I have created a list of pros and cons for all those looking to purchase the BLU Studio HD 6.0
Pros:
-Budget friendly.
Being used to expensive iPhones and Samsung Galaxies, I found this phone a steal for the price of $149.99 at (most) Walmart stores.
-Ability for dual sim cards.
I don't use this feature, but I find it a great asset. I'm heading into the law field soon, and now I won't have to buy a second work phone!
-Volume
When I was doing my research I saw a lot of complaints about the level of the volume on both the earphones and in-call volume. I have to say, after a week of use, I don't find this an issue at all. The volume goes up to a comfortable level. I like to listen to my music LOUD, but I have no complaints about the volume levels.
-Screen
I was honestly really taken back by how bright and crisp the screen is. I've had some pretty awful low budget $100 phones in the past, but the BLU's 5.0'' HD display is quite remarkable for a mid-range phone. It's also larger than the iPhone 5.
-Processor
Granted, I know this is a mid-range phone so I won't be playing crazy graphics heavy games or apps that would take up a lot of storage and bog down the phone. Even so, watching Youtube, listening to Spotify, browsing social media, and even just swiping between screens is very fast compared to similar phones on the market.
-Buttons
I've heard a lot of negative feedback that the phone is too sensitive and they keep accidentally pressing the buttons and restarting the phone. I don't know what the hell they're doing because I have not once restarted my phone by accident and I even have the case on. I like the buttons, and they have a great sensitivity.
Cons:
-Camera
Although the camera isn't terrible, it's nothing to write home about. It is equipped with an 8MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera. It's quite grainy.
-Battery life
The battery life isn't great but it isn't awful. It will for sure last you the day on one charge if you're only making texts and calls and no browsing the internet or anything. I think I expected more because usually my prepaid androids can last like, two days on one charge. The battery life is comparable to that of an iPhone or high-end android, without all the added processing benefits. Overall, the battery life will last you the day, but you'll see it deplete pretty quickly.
-Typing Accuracy
This phone has a keyboard better than most I've seen in mid-range phones. Usually the accuracy is horrible and slow and I have to install something like SwiftKeys to even enjoy typing. This phone is a far step up from that, and I do enjoy the texting keyboard on it, however it is just a little inaccurate.
Summary:
Overall, I think this phone is great for the price and will get you basically exactly what you pay for. It's a neat, quick, and clear phone and although it doesn't have many apps and gadgets like high-end phones, it'll get you where you need to go.

Got everything back with the fixed update, except for the fact that I can't receive group text or pictures. I have tried different mms apps, factory reset and data is on.

GPS never seems to work. Signal drops often if it works at all. Using Samsung Tab 3 in same locations always works & stays connected, so it isn't a location issue. Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same problem with my blu and all the way in Scotland my sims are not reading anymore since my recent system update please help us blu tec team hurry...........

I did a factory reset but first I made sure to save all data in Google drive so I can retrieve and download them again. Well it worked and I am back in business. One whole week of no calls or texts.... I live to tell the story 😀

I did the new wireless update and nothing changed, my sims are still not detected.. Sigh.. Did it work for anyone else?

Went in looking for the update under Settings/about device/ wireless update and there it was! I need to be at 30% battery life before I download' but I'm hopeful!

Just got off the phone with blu uet again, and now they are saying that the software team is finalizing the new update. They are apparently testing it, to make sure its going to work properly. Probably should have done that with the last "update"! They said we will get a notification when its ready to install.

After being off my apps and unable to download my apps for almost a week and a half due to the wifi update, I have followed the advice on a Blu Studio forum and have been able to download the Amazon Underground app. From there I have been able to download my apps once again. Not quite the same phone I had before but so helpful. Thank you guys for the suggestion.

In regards to the link I posted to re-install apps, not all the apps installed.
So, I looked up an app on google play (for instance: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cnn.mobile.android.phone), copied the portion beginning with "com" (com.cnn.mobile.android.phone) and did a search for "download com.cnn.mobile.android.phone apk" and I was able to install apps that way, too.
I was able to install Sling TV that way, but it won't run because it's looking for an update and tries to go through google play.
Anyway, I was able to recover a lot of apps lost during the "update".
What sucks is, there's no claim on BLU's site about the mess they made.
Let me know how this works for y'all.
