Caviar adds a skeleton watch to iPhone XS and XS Max

Ro, 18 October 2018

The Russian company Caviar, known for its custom premium iPhone redesigns just announced another over-the-top version of the recently released iPhone XS and XS Max. This time the company slapped an open-mechanism skeleton watch on the back. They are part of the company's new Grand Complications Skeleton lineup.

The customization comes in three different colors - Pink Gold, Titanium and Black & Gold. As the name and prices imply, the models are made of real titanium and gold. The body is engraved with decorative gears of polished titanium or gold, depending on the model while the skeleton watch carries a transparent face that lets you peek inside the clockwork mechanism.

As you could expect, these don't come cheap - the Pink Gold variant sells for $6,490, the Titanium version asks $6,320 and the Gold & Black skin will set you back $7,160. That's if they are based on the XS - if you want the iPhone XS Max you need to add $230 on top of those.

Well, its complicated Form following function is true design(in my opinion) Complcations for the sake of complication is pretty dumb and extravegent(pointless luxury). Apple designs circuit board to be admired at. Others should also do that. ...

Overkill for sure, but I have to say, if you had the cash, these are quite cool.
