Confirmed: Unlocked Nokia Lumia 800 hits UK on November 16

10 November, 2011

Yesterday we told you about a possible delay of Nokia Lumia 800 in the UK. It was Clove who released a statement regarding the Lumia 800 availability. It said the SIM-free version is delayed for January 2012, while the one on contract will be released as planned on November 16.

Today Nokia's communication director confirmed the Lumia 800 launch for November 16 in the UK. The SIM-free model will be launched on the same date as the carrier-locked version, but there is a catch.

The only two retailers to offer the unlocked Lumia 800 are Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U. As far as the carrier versions are concerned - Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and Three are the ones to offer it on contract.

All other retailers are going to offer the Lumia 800 in Q1 2012. So, the yesterday's news turned out to be right and wrong in the same time.
