Cyanogen Inc. office now occupied by a new company, Andrasta, run by former CEO

Peter, 06 February 2017

After Cyanogen Inc. folded, the CyanogenMod community was forced to reorganize, which gave birth to Lineage OS. It seems that the Inc. part is getting a new lease on life too, rebirthed as Andrasta.

Former Cyanogen Inc. CEO Kirt McMaster (who later transitioned to “Executive Chairman”) tweeted a photo of the company’s former office, which now bears the Andrasta logo. The new company has a website - www.adrasta.com - and is hiring.

From the positions they are looking to fill, it looks like Adrasta is another AI assistant in the making. Such digital assistants are the hot new thing, every major phone manufacturer seems to have one or to be working on one (Microsoft's Cortana was deeply integrated into Cyanogen OS at one point).

The whole thing is quite strange though - McMaster tweeted (and then deleted) an image of damage to the office building and even more damage to a Tesla Model S. Not quite the best way to announce a new company (not to mention that it’s unclear how much of the Cyanogen Inc. team stayed with their former CEO).

Is it ADRasta, or ANDRasta? In the title and the text the OP uses both of the terms, and when I hover over the www.adrasta.com link it links to www.ANDRasta.com (on the status bar)

Lost all respect for him now. I hope lineageOS distances itself from him. After all i wonder if after all of this, shutting down cyanogen and the servers so quickly it was all a ploy to open his new adventure. But doing it this way..... i dont...
