Deal: Samsung US drops the prices of the Galaxy Tab S9 trio, Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 get carrier deals

Peter, 02 April 2024

Did you try the Galaxy AI features that were added to Samsung’s 2023 flagships as an update? These were added to the Galaxy S23 series, but are also available on the Z5 foldables and the S9 tablets. While the S-phones were already replaced by the S24 series, the foldables and tablets are still current, at least for a few more months.

And in the case of the tablets, the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra, Samsung is offering discounts up to $220 to entice you to try out the new features. Starting with the smallest slate, it’s $130 off in the base 8/128GB configuration, but you might want to get the 12/256GB one for the extra RAM – that one is $150 off.

The Galaxy Tab S9+ is the middle child with $130 and $150 discounts of its own, but this one starts at 12/256GB and goes up to 12/512GB. Note that these prices are for the Wi-Fi only tablets, but the Tab S9+ is also available with 5G connectivity for AT&T, Verizon and UScellular.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is the largest of the trio and the largest Android tablet that you are likely to find in a store near you. This one also has 12/256GB and 12/512GB variants (at $130 and $150 off, respectively), but you can also go all out with the 16GB/1TB slate that is $220 off its MSRP.

The foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, can be reduced in price with carrier deals – up to $1,000 trade-in credit and $50 or $100 instant Samsung Credit. If you’re buying an unlocked phone, then the trade-in credit is capped at $500 or $800 (for the Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, respectively).

The S23 series also received the AI features, but Samsung has scrubbed half of them from their online store – there’s only the Galaxy S23 and S23 FE. For the later, you can get $200 instant trade-in credit and up to $460 (e.g. an S20 FE is valued at $150).
