HI all
I bought this phone in India before a few days and im posting the reviews here.
Overall rating i would give is 5/10.why?
here it is!
REMEMEBR - ANDROID 2.3 UPGRADE IS APPLICABLE ONLY FOR KOREA REGION.NO OTHER COUNTRY WOULD RECEIVE THIS UPGRADE.FKK OFF DELL!
Pros:
Very little to talk about pros
1-Nice screen 4.1 amoled at affordable price.
2-Good loudspeaker performance
3-Smooth performance only after installing custom roms.
4-Less charging time-full charge witnin 2-2.30hrs.
Cons:
List is long
1-bad camera result.Even galaxy y would give much better cam results
2-bad sound in earphones.Very slow and very average sound.Galaxy y was better even for music.
3-andrd 2.2 os which ty gave is too slow and ffull of garbage apps which we would never use.I updated to cm7 custom rom and now performance is much much better.Very smooth now.
4-No upgrades in future- dell service guy told me i shudnt expect any upgrades in dell venue.
5-Battery backup is okay.not that bad not that good either.
6-less successful model so not much custom and other developments available for tweaks,Two custom roms are there which seems to be more promising than the inbuilt 2.2 froyo.
Overall this is a decent phone but lacks dells attention for updates and all.Camera is too disappointing.
If youwant to buy this for its price, go ahead.If budget is not a problem, u have better choices.
If u buy this phone, buy it only assuming,-- u will have to install custom rom(risky a bit), u will not get any update from dell,u have a beter handycam and u dont want to use phones cam much,u have an ipod which will fulfill ur music quality needs etc.

does any one know who is using dell venue that "how many speakers does this set have?" actually i have this set and there are 2 physical speakers, but only one is working.....is this a problem in set or one speaker is dummy? shall i go for a replacement?

Can some one share Is there some significant advantages in using 2.3 over 2.2...(I used it on ZTE Blade felt same to me)?
What will happen to the device warranty after rooting?
Also links for A step by step rooting guide.

Hey
I'm planning on dell venue.
Could a user tell me if Gingerbread is required to run the new downloaded apps.
Also the pre installed apps. that come along with the phone, if they can be removed? If not then do they take a lot of data/internet usage?

Hi frnz. Used this phone for couple of weeks now. I now can share my xperiences. Built quality is awesome. Display is simply superb being amoled. Curved gorilla glass adds to its beauty and provides safety againest scratches. Call reception is fairly good no issues, not a single drop call yet. Browser is fast too. Music quality is absolutely fine.
I am loving it got it about 14.5 k rupees no comparison in this range.
Dell had issued official update to 2.3 but I didnt uldate yet. Will do it soon an and share with you guys.....

This is a really nice phone... Great look :) I have been using it for 6 months... U can open documents without lag... About the OS u can use MIUI korean version (it has English language).. its based on gingerbread... Im using that os... Because of the Amoled screen, the display is really crisp, nice... Im quite satisfied with it... ^^

Is it that Dell and Acer planning to wind up their mobile business and hence want to clear the inventory of existing handsets. That could be the reason Dell not upgrading Venue to latest Android version and still kept the users hanging on the outdated 2.2?

We all agree that Venue has amazing specs, but Android 2.2 so much outdated. A big disappointment since this is the only value for money phone I could found in this price range from a reputed company. (Screaming) Dell please provide the latest Android with Venue.
Those using/used this phone, can please share how is the reception quality? Heard sometimes you are not even reachable when called (is it software or service provider issue)?

Suerb phone the only 1 available with amoled display with gorilla glass 8mp camera one ghz processor. Am using it from a couple of days. Go for it. The others available are only 800 mhz with less resolution op the display.
can any one help how to send files via blue tooth I had to download astro to share my files. Thanks

It's the cheapest phone with 8MP Camera!! Is it upgradable to Android 2.3 ?
