DxOMark rates Asus Zenfone 5's camera highly
The Asus Zenfone 5 is a mid-range device, but its camera promises to be flagship-worthy. Or at least if you are willing to go by DxOMark's rating of the dual-camera setup. The company gave it a final score of 90, on an image score of 93 and 86 for video.
The review concludes that during daylight, the cameras perform excellently, catching enough detail and offering good dynamic range. The overall image quality in broad daylight is comparable to considerably more expensive models.
However, when light isn't ideal noise levels quickly increase and detail levels drop notably. At least the autofocus is said perform just as well and colors and exposure are correct more often than not.
When it comes to video recording, the Asus Zenfone 5 doesn't do quite as well, its frames lacking detail. Still, even here it's among the best performers in the price range that impresses with good stabilization, white balance (even indoor) and exposure.
