it is possible ok first heat the side edges with a hot air smd soldering iron at 220 degrees then gently pry between them with a Stanley knife. There are 4AAA cells in 1,2V 700mA in series NiMH battery

You have to cut open the battery and resolder new elements inside - I've done that with my 1018 putting bigger capacity elements and everything works fine. Just be very careful with cutting the battery case, because when you glue it back aftewards yo...

I was wondering if there was any way of disassembling the battery itself to replace the battery cells?
Maybe someone knows how?
