i have one ericsson ga628 and is in very good condition , here in romania , one of mobile network is available also in 900mhz i use in year 2010 a phone from stone-age :)) but signal and batery life is very very good (especial in subway train :D) and ring tone is just gorgeous , people who hear RINGG RINGG RINGG!!! at a very high tone ,it look at me ,"whata f&*%$* is that fire alarm noise ??" :))) i am very proud of my ericsson ga628 (also i have and a smart phone on a common number who knows every body) but this number on ga628 , only my mother father brother and 3 - 4 people know :P

This was my first cell phone. I got it from Kolkata,India back in 1998. Though one can use the same as a weapon also (due to its weight) the same is an incredible device.

It was not my first phone. When I was in high school I was dreaming to have one but I could not, because I was depending on my pocket money that would never be enough to buy a 628. Than 15 years passed, I used 10 different brands will all high-tech functionalities. But last week, I suddenly remembered how desperately I wanted to have a 628 in those old years. I found a working one on internet an bought it today for 10 Euros. It was so beautiful that I could not drop it off my hand all day, I called all my friends with it:)
It has the beauty of simlicity; one line screen, no time/date, steel and heavy body, only basic ring tones, has an antenna,..,etc. I am sure I will be using it for long time.
My wife is making fun of me now, because I started using a 628 intead of my iphone:) I am sure my collegues will do on Monday as well:))

Its the first GSM phone I bought in 1998. Very sturdy and still looks like new and works in 2010 :-)

The GA628 was lso my first one. I got one in 1996 while in the army and helped me keep in touch home. It brings me great memories. ;,)

This was my first ever mobie. I loved it Had it for 4 years. The battery life was amazing. I even tried to Roam with it, but it never worked lol. Mine came with a free leather case. How many handsets do these days eh?

here's a bit more info for all you ga628 fans out there !!!found a great website selling loads of battery's for ericsson phones, inc the ga628, this ones called batterymill its in the uk, am just about to order some for my ga628's .all the best rick.

heres a good tip if your tempted to take the back off the ga628, just under the display, is a little block covered in very fine copper wire, be very careful if you need to remove it, any damage will result in display not working ever again!!!! great tough reliable well made phone !!!!!!
