Exclusive: vivo X80 Pro+ coming in September
After the vivo X80 and vivo X80 Pro made their way onto the smartphone scene earlier this year, it’s time we turn our eyes to a third phone in the X80 group. A trustworthy industry source revealed to us that a new X-series device is on its way to launch in September. It won’t be an iterative upgrade over the existing X80 models which leaves the rumored vivo X80 Pro+ as the likely device to launch.
After the warm reception of the X80 duo, vivo reached second place in terms of market share (13%) in the premium smartphone segment in China for Q2 2022 according to Counterpoint Research’s latest report. The company aims to build upon the good reception of its X80 and X80 Pro with the upcoming X80 Pro+ phone.
The X80 Pro+ is expected to debut with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset alongside an upgraded camera setup. Rumors suggest the X80 Pro+ may include the 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 (1/2.76 inch size, 0.64 μm pixel size) and 50MP ISOCELL JN2 (1/1.12 inch size, 1.4um pixel size) alongside the existing 50MP main and 48MP ultrawide sensors from the X80 Pro.
