Gotta say, 8 years of software updates is not that useful. We don't want too few updates, but not too many. It just raises unneccessary costs up.

8 years from now, this will seem very slow in the world of hyper speed phones.

As for aftermarket software support, Fairphone always leaves the bootloader unlocked, so there are numerous custom ROMs for it.

            At 700eur this is a bit pricey, For 600eur this would be spot on. As for the reparability i hope the "we have easily changeable parts" won't be as much as a marketing ploy as reality.
            Also is it me or is this a bit of a thick boy? Redmi Note 3 was basically this in a nutshell, but even it was able to keep the thickness to a 8.7mm. Heck poco f1 is this in a nutshell and it cost 450eur for the 8gb variant in 2018 and aftermarket software support for it is just wonderous.
            That being said, it's sad that Xiaomi doesn't make quality smartphones like they used to.

              FATHER OF ANDROID, 31 Aug 2023like you doOh, we do. Fairphone aren't using underpaid child labours and always focuses on long-term sustainability. Don't forget that this is the phone where you can easily repair it by yourself using spare parts that can be ordered from their websites. Try seeing that on other smartphone brands.

                QCM6490 = SD 732G ( but a little less powerfull)

                  Even though it still doesn't have the headphone jack and is only restricted to the EU market, this is a massive upgrade over the last-gen model. I find it surprising to see a larger screen without making any changes to the overall dimension. Not many phones can do that.
