Phone is in a league of its own niche product with sustainability and repairability and partly modular like they did with Fairphone 3 and 3+ where you could replace your camera of the Fairphone 3 with a newer camera of the Fairphone 3. Simply a hardware upgrade that you could do yourself.

If you’re mindset is like that, you’re clearly not part of the targeted audience. You’re free to have that mindset of course, but I’m just saying. Not only you, but when I scroll down the comment section I stumble upon a dozen and more of such comments.

Ich88, 11 Nov 2024You really don't know what you're talking about, ... moreYou are right though I don't really care for such people say, it's just utter ignorance and sad to see people don't do any r search, even if it's just a simple bit of reading. But there's also a growing community of Fairphone users who do understand and know the ins and outs of this brand and it's products, and related targets. My FP5 is excellent 👌🏻 battery could have been better but that's really about it. The rest is so good, excellent piece of hardware for sure. I recommended the phone to 2 friends and 3 family members, of which 1 friend and 1 family member also got the phone earlier this year and the other friend is going to renew his subscription next month and is also gonna get FP5 this time.

Fairphone has 5 years warranty and everything user replaceable with parts really cheap like 40 euro a battery and 100 E display. Don't forget you get 8 years updates

for the price and specs i don’t think it’s good it nearly s24 ultra and 15pm price

This could be an excellent backup phone that can be checked in in your luggage when the battery is removed.

Still a great phone with good software support, timely updates. New green color looks nice but the blue is probably my favorite color for this phone.

Come on - over 50 eur for a battery? I'd accept this only if scantly clad female elves made it and left green lipstick marks on it.

Otherwise this looks like a dream phone. Good specs, an oled display, LineageOS hopefully without issues and the cherry on the top - a removable battery. Can't get any better. But I guess my income is way too low below average to afford it. I was considering buying it in installments before I saw the price of the battery. And I otherwise pay in cash for everything, even for my car. So yeah, I wanted it badly...

Cause here it's also with a free second battery but the 6/128 version FP5 is €549 and the FP4 is €449.

Oled lifespan now reach 30 years. I am sure you already buy another brand new phone before fifth of its years

Its currently 450€ in germany on sale and you get an extra battery

                                  My problem with it is
no jack, radio or IR blaster
LED light should have been included since they removed AOD
                                  Too big and heavy

Love the longevity and fair model and now for 450€ it is not so bad

Currently using a 6 year old Poco F1 that still works fine, I can't move to a phone with so many things missing, just can't justify it

Arendator, 04 Sep 2024Is the OLED now the weakest point to degrade first?Right, OLED screens now degrade after couple of years of usage. You'll see the marks from apps you are using as a shades and shadows on screen.
