First Google Pixel 9 Pro renders reveal a smaller display, new camera island
Google released the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in October 2023, and now is looking ahead towards the Pixel 9 lineup.
According to the first surfaced CAD-based renders, the Pixel 9 Pro will have a smaller screen, flat panels and sides, and a camera bump that no longer spans from one end to the other.
The leaksters revealed the screen will be a 6.5” panel, compared with the 6.7” OLED on the predecessor. However, the entire body will be basically the same size, meaning the bezels will be slightly thicker.
Google relied on a wide camera island in the past three generations of Pixel flagships. The shooters are once again pictured horizontally but within an oval island. While the device will be 8.5 mm thin in its base, the bump will add almost 50%, measuring 12 mm at its most prominent.
Google has been using an aluminum frame, but we may see the company to follow the trend of titanium alloy that Apple set with the iPhone 15 Pro series and Samsung adopted in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
