Galaxy Note9 receives another Android Pie beta

Vlad, 31 December 2018

As we wait for the final release to go out, possibly on January 15, Samsung has now started sending out a new beta build of Android 9 Pie with One UI on top to the Galaxy Note9 units enrolled in the beta program. It's the fourth build that's making it to the company's flagship phablet, and it comes with a bunch of bug fixes.

For example, force touching the Home button when gesture navigation is activated didn't work, but now it does. The Gallery app isn't stopping anymore when you play motion photos, and the Bixby service doesn't stop in two phone mode from this point on. Another fixed bug has to do with the navigation bar not changing when switching to one-hand operation mode if gestures are enabled, and finally there was a bug causing the bottom right part of the keyboard not to respond to touches - and yes, this one has been squashed too.

If you're in the beta program, this update is currently rolling out over-the-air in Germany, South Korea, and India. It arrives as a 123MB download and contains the January 1, 2019 security patch level, which is a nice added bonus. After installing it you'll be on software version N960FXXU2ZRLT.
