Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are receiving the November security update in Europe

Vlad, 09 November 2016

Another month has passed, which means a new security update for Android is due to be rolling out. The November security patches have in fact already reached Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge handsets sold by T-Mobile in the US, and now it's time for the same to happen to the unlocked units purchased in Europe.

At the moment, the new software only seems to have surfaced in Italy, but undoubtedly more countries on the continent will follow suit. As always though, such rollouts are staged, so it may take up to a week or so for the new release to arrive in more places.

This security update includes dozens of patches for vulnerabilities and exposures in the Android operating system, as well as 14 fixes for bugs in Samsung's implementation of the OS. For the Galaxy S7 edge, the new build is U1BPJG. If you can't wait for the update notification, you can go to Settings > About device and choose the Download updates manually option. Who knows, you might get lucky.

Samsung is very trustworthy when it comes to consistent monthly security patch updates, good for them.
