Dear All
I'm a new android user, I just get a new A50 from Australia and try to root it. It's successful with z4root and I try to install Thai font to system. Unfortuantely I did wrong by deleting font folder in the system, therefore I can't run the system again. When I power on, it still have only garmin asus android logo and can't use it again. Does anyone please let me know how to restore or resolve this problem, or I have to throw it away? Thank you in advance.

The camera only supports QVGA (320x240) resolution, and produces quite poor-quality videos (compared to a Samsung Jet S8000)

Telechoice selling for au$179 optus locked for 6mths. Otherwise, $80 dollar to unlock. Size and shape an iphone 3 copy. Performance though not better than iphone 3 but for this price you get to use applications and games from andriod market. Free turn by turn navigation with lifetime updates (iphone 3 use data). Well a typical GPS cost more than $100. Generous with accessories, comes with free car mount and car charger. Cons, abit hard to find other accessories. Cant find perfect case anywhere but you can still easily get screen protector (US$2), additional batteries (US$15), compatible case (iphone 3) on ebay.

The phone is great. GPS reception is extra ordinary. I can lock satellite signal in my friend's office(1st floor of 3 storey shop lot).
The only problem is when you create a new contact, it take more than 10 sec to save the contact. 2 of my friends A50 take more than 2 minutes. Sometimes more than 20 minutes. Asus should fix the bug ASAP.

Picked one of these up in the week from Dick Smith for $199 on Optus as previously stated.
What can I say? For the price its a revelation. Sits high above similar phones at this price point.
A genuine Iphone/HTC/Galaxy competitor for most things. Sure the camera's only a 3mp but at then end of the day, a proper digital camera is still gonna take better pics.
The design is understated, not ugly or cheap. Its not a flashy phone in the way it looks, something I appreciate with all the phone whores these days.
Screen is nice, not up to Iphone 4 levels of clarity but definitely as good as the Iphone 3. Android system is great as per usual with the phone wanting for nothing imo. Must be noted screen is a proper capacitive touch, not a resistive. Something that really propels user friendliness, ( I don't REALLY like touchscreens) and navigating the phone isn't an issue.
Navigation is impeccable as to be expected and nothing can touch the A50 in this area.
What it boils down to is not so much what the phone DOES do cause you know, you can see the specs, you know the OS and the features, its what it DOESN'T do....and that's annoy me.
Using the phone day to day is great, battery lasts a while (still a modern day smartphone, don't expect days on end), would say its better then an Iphone, making calls (shock horror) is fantastic, dedicated call button on the face to access this beats hunting through menus, texting is identical more or less to the iphone setup, challenging for most guys with normal hands but still doable.
I would rate this phone an 8/10, its got everything you NEED in a smart business style phone without the wanky "look at me" image that comes with the main stream phones. Only downside is lack of accessories on ebay and the like.
I expect big things from Garmin-Asus, to get a phone this right so early on is a promising sign!
