guys, does updating to kitkat version eats up some extra ram ? tell me how much ram is free after updating to kitkat.

        Finally updated to loyalty 4.4.2. By gcafe software by my own PC.
        All done. And like new layout.
        +ve of kitkat
        1.New wallpaper added.
        2. What's app inbuilt
        3. Kingsoft office updated
        4. Keypad swipe to type new feature added
        5. But juice more increase now
        6. Twitter added
        7. New games added
        8. Touch is more smooth now
        And many more. ......

        -ve of kitkat
        1. Previous data lost
        2. All playstore apps update lose
        3. old Msg. Contact on phone lost
        4. New software so slowly slowly got known
        5. Sign in all account again
        6. Lost all games coin and cradit I cleared.
        Anyhow it's good to change with time
        So I m .......

Just use applications like "app backup" and take backup of all the apps and games (You will get *.apk file of each app/game you will backup using this) and you can install these apps without downloading them from playstore again.

                So Finally Kitkat it is!!!

                Even though at first attempt I was not happy with the way these update landed but It's quit interesting because now I can update as many M2 as I wish to.

                Good things about update are:

                Nice interface, issue with phone-book resolved, NQ and other apps can be removed without root, Fast UI, Display quality seems to have improved a bit, Auto brightness option has improved, improved call log, battery life is improved a little, and all other kitkat features are there.

                Things which I didn't like;
                Badly missing the battery and short-cut widget of previous ROM, Even as claimed by gionee that update won't remove my data, I lost everything, luckily I was having backup of everything. GPS looks little lost during few occasions.

                So my verdict is, go for it and update your device ASAP.

                  I send quality is cleanest but to low send it is hardly audible in crowd i can help ringtone when it rings in crowded place

                        Correct procedure:
                        1. It will work on Win 7 not on Win 8. I tried on both and succeeded in Win 7.
                        2. Then install android driver. No need to connect mobile with PC. You may get some pop-ups during installation. Just click "Install anywhere" option every time. You will get a dialogue box stating successfully installed.
                        3. Open Flash tool
                        4. Select scatter loading and browse "MT6592_Android_scatter"
                        5.Click "Firmware-Upgrade"
                        6. Switch off your mobile
                        7. Connect with PC by USB cable.
                        8. It will start updating. You can see status bar and finally will get a pop-up "Firmware upgrade".
                        9. Disconnect mobile and then switch on.
                        10. It will start updating / configuring applications.
                        IT IS DONE.

                        However, I faced some problems. All my earlier applications and games disappeared from the mobile. I could not locate them.
                        I reinstall all of them.
                        Another problem is phone memory reduced to only 340 MB in my 4Gb model. Which was earlier around 1.4 Gb.

                        Rest of the things are OK. There some good features in 4.4.2. It is not 4.4.4.

                            SP Flash tool does not work properly with windows 8. I need to find a windows 7 PC for this. WTH

                                If you are a real smartphone user then this is the only phone that you can use to work with all the features at the same time and still have enough battery for another day. I mean it.

                                  CHINTU, 04 Sep 2014it is waste when compared to micromax canvas a110 Just because you have wasted your money on a low quality phone from Micromax, it does not grant you the permission to disrespect the great M2 from Gionee.
                                  Calm down and ask yourself, you will know how good and superior M2 is than the MMX phone you are talking about. :)
