A good upgrade in the chipset and other fields as Gionee doesn't use good chipsets but just not worth 1000$.

The design is so at... moreyou want SD801 than SD653? it's a stepback! even sd652 has cpu performance with sd810, but with gpu performance match with sd808.. and sd653 is 10% better than sd652. One of the reason why Gionee use this higher-midrange chipset than flagship like sd820 is power consumption, so it can hold longer, combined with 7000mah

design is ultimate and phone is good ....only need to focus on new things. i am sure soner later Gionee can be best smartphone in market.....................................
but better than SAMSUNG------
focus on product and marketing will be automatically. saudi Arabia is very big Market for the smartphones. please make sure this is available in saudi.

This phone is the bane of my existence. The design is so attractive to me, it is gorgeous to look at, but the specs are so outdated. If this had an SD801 or higher, I would probably buy it, but I can't justify paying 1000$ for an outdated chipset.
Why doesn't Samsung make their phones look this good? Ugh.

lame processor for the price range --> sd653 still on par with previous high-end sd808, plus exquisite materials are quite a steal for this price range.. most S8 users never utilise their cpu to its full potential
outdated camera resolution with a so no good quality --> bigger resolution doesnt mean better picture result, and this phones use dual camera with 2x OPTICAL zoom and 8x digital zoom
no good speaker --> we dont know yet, and honestly we dont need good speaker as long as it's loud and clear, bcause people depends on earphone for listening music
no microSD card slot --> it's 128GB storage, you can add online storage and/or usb otg
non removable battery --> most phones are using nonremovable battery
a high capacity one with so so narrow space much probably the OS is implanted with sBoom feature from samsung --> its not samsung which can blow up.. and it's 7000mah twice than previous galaxynote
other than that, this phone offer many premium features: stainless steel body (that's why its heavy), premium leather, sapphire glass, hardware level encryption chip, encrypted call, online payment protection, three accounts of apps, secure fingerprint scanner (covered with sapphire glass protection) with heart rate and bloodflow signal, and many more.. it's quite a steal compared with vertu phones that using sd810

No glass protection, lame processor for the price range, outdated camera resolution with a so no good quality, no good speaker, no microSD card slot, non removable battery, a high capacity one with so so narrow space much probably the OS is implanted with sBoom feature from samsung

Too expensive. Old hardware and simply just too damn expensive. I was looking forward for this, but over 1000$ and it doesn't even have lpddr4 ram.

Agreed with the example of a Ferrari with Chevy's engine. I like the shape, the battery capacity and maybe the Amigo software, but the CPU? Seriously...is for a mid range phone!

why did they make it with two batteries ....one with the same power will give more space for more improvements or to put more things to make the device more efficient two batteries are taking mush space than usual ......the processor is kind of aaaaaa low performance compared with all the devices we saw in this year.... sb821 would be better much better and there is no signs for water resistance or any other things this big display needs a pen or stylus and at least the cameras they are low i wish there more migapixels in fornt and back......but still the best of this year thought

In Africa this is more than sufficient. People here are price conscious. In fact, most people here in Nigeria for example just need to know it's "the latest Gionee smartphone and it has a very good battery" and they're ok with that. This is also a good deal for both Qualcomm and Gionee. Qualcomm gets to sell their older processors (no need for a new factory line to be built) and Gionee gets it at a good discounted rate while upgrading from MediaTek.
