Global tablet sales up 20.4% in Q3 2024
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Q3 2024 saw a total of 39.6 million tablets shipped worldwide, which represents a YoY growth of 20.4%.
Apple maintains the top spot within the segment with a sizeable lead in front of the competition but just a modest 1.4% YoY growth. Still, 12.6 million units is nothing to scoff at. The second spot for number of units sold goes to Samsung, with 7.1 million or 18.3% YoY growth. Analysts believe this is solely due to the commercial success of the Galaxy Tab A9 series.
Amazon and its tablet sales take the third port with 4.6 million units shipped, but an absolutely amazing 111.3% YoY growth. Those are mostly attributed to strong Amazon Prime Day sales. Huawei also had a strong quarter with 3.3 million units and a 44.1% YoY increase. And finally, we have Lenovo in the fifth spot with 3 million units sold and 14.7% YoY growth.
Sound off in the comments since we are kind of wondering if you picked up an Amazon tablet recently just because it was a great deal.
