Google acqui-hires Cronologics, makers of Android-powered smartwatch

Peter, 13 December 2016

Google acqui-hired the Cronologics team to bolster its Android Wear smartwatch OS. The company was founded by former Google employees and recently launched its first (and only) product - the Cronologics CoWatch.

The watch was crowdfunded on IndieGoGo and runs a customized Android with Amazon Alexa integration (which we suppose will not be part of the new Android Wear features). Anyway, the watch was pretty high-end with a 1.39” AMOLED screen (400 x 400px), 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage, a heart rate sensor and a 12mm thick stainless steel case.

Details on the deal are slim - the announcement post from Cronologics just mentions how excited the team is to grow the Android Wear family with version 2.0 and beyond. Hit the source link if you want to read the full post.
