Google Assistant finally works in Waze

Vlad, 10 June 2019

The Google Assistant is almost three years old now, and Google acquired Waze way back in 2013. However, it took until now for the Assistant to finally work inside Waze.

You have reason to celebrate, if you're a Waze user and have been patiently waiting for this moment - but only if you're in the US and have an Android phone and its language is set to English. The rollout is limited for now, hopefully it will expand soon, but Google isn't sharing any details about that yet.

You can ask the Assistant to report traffic or potholes or crashes or whatever else you may come across on your travels. You can also tell it things like "avoid tolls" to change directions to an option that does exactly that. You also get all of the usual Assistant functions, of course.
