Google should make a phone size comparison with iPhone 7 or 5s. Those has the best size for a phone. Over 5" or 5" means a phablet. Phone should be handle in one hand and pollex . Its the 1st smart feature of a smart phone...... hi google think twice and make pixel 2 in smaller size less than 5". Fed-up by using over 5" phones now......

I hate the design honestly it looks a ugly phone on the back like you broke half of the glass on the back and typical boring HTC knock off design in front.. Not worth my money

As boring as the iphone. No dual sim. No sd card. No ir blaster. Chunky body that doesn't translate to marathon battery life. Overkill screen resolution that doesn't serve any purpose other than giving a marginally better VR experience that nobody is going to bother after a few nauseating experiences or after the novelty fades. Google assistant? You only talk to your phone at home or when driving unless you want to look silly in public talking loudly to a phone. For this, get an Amazon echo or Google's copycat version. And the price? Forget it. You can have the same or better specs and features at half the price elsewhere. Try oneplus or xiaomi or oppo or vivo. So what is the target market of this phone? Iphone switchers? Nope. Samsung flagship users? Nope. Nexus owners? Yes, but only a very small percentage as most Nexus owners value price:performance over prestige. In short, this phone is going to flop big time unless it captures if not all, at least most of the features android enthusiasts want in an android phone. High on the list for many android users aside from good camera and video (given) are sd card support, removable or large 4000mAh+ batteries, water resistance, ir blaster, wireless and/or fast charging, dual sim support, slimport or mhl support, option for larger (6.0"-6.8") screen sizes.

I could not help getting the feeling about MS Surface to challenge iPad. Isn't Google way too late to the scene trying to recreate a "high-end" Android category when the market is flooded with cheap, commoditized,Android knockout?

The next better SoC hasn't even been ANNOUNCED yet, won't even be SAMPLING, let along shipping in anything in 8 months. This phone will be the best of the best for a considerable amount of time, PLUS, nobody with an ounce of sanity will be replacing their phone in only 8 months.
On top of that, you don't buy apple, because you **can't do anything with it**.

GSMA doesn't list these under HTC Brand. They are placed under Google brand.
Even in past no Nexus was available at OEM outlets / stores.
