Even though they are not matched price wise. the XS Max is more matched for the Note 9.

Can anyone explain why Pixel 3 speakers sound so loud for multimedia and so faint when ringing? I think this is a software bug and hopefully Google fix it in the near future.

Compare something like the Note 9 to XS and see. But in my opinion Pixel 3 camera is miles better and more natural looking. XS has too much artificial filtering.

better battery life, faster, better screen, less buggy software, better audio quality, for music and video, higher memory capacity, camera is personal preference but i prefer the iPhone for more natural looks. but probably the camera is the only department where Pixel is better at.

Small battery, 4 GB RAM, no headphone jack, 1080p screen, no SD card slot...
That's kind of a joke at this price point, tbh.

I don't know with what should I start. I've buyed the Pixel 3 14 days ago and with only one day of using the device realizing that the microphone doesn't work. It's my first time dealing with Google devices and don't have any experience with their ultimately bad Customer service. I've called them and explained what happened and they started with the same boring details ( reset the phone, do that do this) and it all didn't work. After 3 days they sent me an Email with the steps i should do to send the phone back to them and then they send me a new one. I bought a packing case and put the phone in and gave it to ups. After one week no one sent me anything or that the phone is there. I called them one more time amd they assured me that it is only a matter of time and I will get the new phone and that they "have the phone infront of them". After another week i called them and he told me that the phone is lost in the Warehouse and that they will find it and send me an Email. Now Google was that right? That was your defective phone not mine. Why should i wait all of this? Why did they lie to me at first saying that the phone is infront of them and then the phone is lost in the warehouse? That was a really sad experience with Google.

Bottom line ... if you have a Pixel 2, don't upgrade - not worth it. It's nice phone but not worth the $$ to "upgrade." I wish I had my old P2 back. I miss the notification LED but have worked around it a little with the Ap Pixel Pulse. Not a good substitute though. Nice phone, but I'd take my old P2 deal back in a second. P3 is just not that good. I won't fall for it next time. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me."

Believe me people - I have used it for more than a month. Its probably the best phone out there. Camera is mindblowing. night sight feature is simply groundbreaking. The build quality of the phone is so premium. Software experience is smooth and enjoyable. Something that surprised me is the battery. Google clearly has done some optimizations in their updates. It easily gets me through the day with 30 to 40% remaining after moderate to heavy usage. The only worrying factor for me was the ring volume. It was less than what i had expected. But i hope google will find a way out. Loudspeaker is super loud by the way. its the phone of the year- for me without doubt. Go get it guys!!!!!!!!

Only more expensive iPhone Xs is overall better phone. Also with completely justifiable price :).
