I use the phone mostly for it's camera and music while on the go because it's so compact and light. The worst battery life I had was about 7 hours of screen on time because I was playing too much codmobile lol That's with 4G+BT. You will easily get a day and a half with normal usage. Standby time is even better and because of that you will get 3 maybe even 4 days of light use (calls, texts, emails). Hope that helps.

I'm planning on getting a pixel 5, can anyone please tell me how is the battery life on this pixel 5 ? ive seen some reviews they say it has amazing battery life, just wanted to know from you users.

Here are the specs i want see in like a 5XL / 6 or whatever the next one is
1440p 90hz display (120hz aint that important but that i can also accept)
5000-6000mah battery (cuz why not)
up to 30W charging supported (wired, i dont use wireless chargers)
New set of cameras (competition has kinda caught up and the iphone is now on par with it)
Better video ( maybe sensor shift or better OIS)
Dual cameras (telephoto aint that important as per my usage)
Pop up selfie cameras for uninterrupted display
maye 6.2 inch phone or 5.6 ( it can compete with most of the iphone 12 lineup upto the pro)
Snapdragon 888 or the next version of 765G( unless that is already a thing)
Price can be around 800-1000 bucks according to specs above
It already has the best OS ( debatable)
U guys can customize this however u want i dont rlly care

What's the time taken to wirelessly charge... morepixel stand and pixel 5 seem to take about 2 hours for the top 50 percent (eg, from 50% to 100%).
the first 50% seems quicker.
its one of the worst wireless charging phones ive seen. ubiolabs and belkin chargers - ubio does worst than pixel stand, belkin seems to do much better.
pixel 5 also seems to choke on more cheap car chargers - you can tell if it dislikes a cheap car charger by it constantly "flickering" to charnge/no charge.
it seems to have an inferior, cheap and failure prone charging system in general. pixel 5 also takes the longest of any phone i have to realize its near a wireless charging device.

garbage. been using every google device with stock android since galaxy nexus. this is the phone that made me decide im likely done with android.
i have a new iphone 12 regular for work. it is a better phone - the pixel 5 is better at photography but i suspect by the next iphone they will no longer be able to use software magic to make the less expensive hardware take better pictures.
the main reason i kept using stock android and google phones was the free storing of high and (for pixel 3/3xl) original quality media items.
with this running out im done. the pixel 5 doesnt do as well as the iphone 12 on the LTE and 5G networks - period. the call quality is less. the idiotic and complete loser-tier migration between old an new phones is a disgusting embarrassment. im done. the iphone wireless upgrade was completely seamless. android 11 to android 11 (3xl to 5) sucked hard. all apps lost data. all games lost data and logins. all wifi saved networks gone. all messages tossed. and when i re-imported all the lost messages the performance of google messenger collapsed! only 24000 texts and this piece of garbage os crumbled. also disgusting google uses play protect and refused to allow me to keep my old apk which google decided needed to be banned - not for hacking, security, but because google wants to regulate "free speech" huck spit. sundar pichai and google are really nasty evil ccp-aligned rats going so far as to try to edit my past applications with play protect. this is criminal at this point.
the phone is garbage tier. one ride in my pocket before the screen protectors arrived marred the finish. gorilla glass 6 - bullcrap - or there is a garbage tier coating that looks like garbage easily.
4000 mah? wrong. must be a china-made cell, because 4000 mah of japan made cell would last a week. this pathetic 4000 mah cell didnt even last a day when the messenger app was grinding due to importing 24000 texts. when i deleted all my text history now it can barely make a day.
android 11 is the worst - you only see how bad it is when you "start fresh" and import. ive been upgrading other phones since 9 with the 3xl and you get grandfathered features but with a fresh android 11, they cut you off and you must use their forced crap settings. its a cheap inferior imitation of iphone ios at this point.
they also removed my ability to play youtube on the home screen. worked fine in 3xl. upgrade to pixel 5, gone.
ive rooted every phone up to this verizon pixel 5. im not even going to bother. im paying it off, vendor unlocking it and selling it on swappa. done.
google jumped the shark. android is not healthy. i dont want to bother trying samsung due to knox and no-rootability and basically phones are tracking spying devices of the deep state and if im going to be imprisoned by and held hostage by a phone may as well be a apple iphone.
wish someone would make another attempt at what ubuntu was trying to do with ubuntu phone. i suspect that the chipset, video and modem people like broadcom make freeing up the ecosystem close to impossible.
the open linux based android was once a beacon of hope where root was easy, settings were open and things were great. now we get a walled garden, google is anti-root, the camera software is almost at par now (no great advantages), the hardware is inferior, the whole point of a phone - the phone part - is inferior, the apple comes in and sounds better, the os mishandles upgrades horribly between identical versions, the pixel stand is a joke, slow to charge, annoying and stupid, i have third party chargers that are faster, the settings are forced down your throat (latest is cant use the notification area despite no notch and no "back" arrows appear in apps by force, supposed to use the back gesture).
google's "do no evil" mantra was changed a while back. the reason they got rid of it is they are rotten evil and want to control your mind and control the hardware and software settings on a device you pay over 500 bucks for. we are paying these wardens to keep us imprisoned and then they gaslight us into believing things on android in the past "wern't better". they were. the phones were cheaper, the android os was more open, the pre-gesture days were better.
im done. pixel 5 is a decent phone worth maybe $350. $700 is a sick joke. the google gorilla glass is pathetic - no way this is gorilla glass 6 - or its coated in some garbage that marrs easily. the camera hardware is junk - software is good - and the android os has turned into a cheap imitation of something else.
been on android for 9 years or so and pixel 5 made me not care about it anymore. sundar pichai and google are rotten to the core.
on another note, im not impressed with verizon aka veri-scum at all. they are a loser company and the premium you pay for their abuse isnt worth it. get "visible" its a veri-scum mvno, you can be on their crummy network (they are tearing up the 3g evdo/1xrtt/cdma) and their 4g coverage isnt really that good and their 5g is nascent. they basically made 3g suck as hard as they could to get people to get new plans to get to "5g".
2020 - telecommunication is getting more expensive, the devices are getting more expensive and are anti-user freedom and the "new networks" suck at providing decent coverage. richard stallman was right. if software isnt free then people and users cant be free.

The phone is covered in a protective plastic layer over the metal frame. That way you can leave an opening in the metal housing to put your wireless charger and protect the phone. He does find metal but it is buried under some recycled plastic coating. Not a bad design on that aspect, I'd say the part to be concerned with is the gap in the screen

About to buy one pixel 5, but definitely not going for google anymore. Just don't wanna buy a phone from a company who doesn't know how to put the display on the body perfectly without leaving a gap. Bye Bye Google

Don't get me wrong, Android 11 (stock Android), is not bad at all, finally there is a more than 5 options build in.. Also Pixel 5, have really good screen (for !idrange phone), good camera, good battery life, and design is also good.. If you can fdind somwhere Pixel 5 for around 300 euros go for it, everyhing else will be overpriced and you will know you paying more, for less. And about Samsung, well S20 is ok, S10e is old with not so good battery..
