I don't get it how the price of this phone is 600$ but 700 euro. Why? 1 euro is 1.20$. it should be the other way around.
Another thing that bafles me is how can it cost 600$ when in my country is literally double.

Glass is weak, not practical, not even that fancy looking. Just a trend that should signal "premium". Plastic ftw!

The 4 had a matte back with the white and orange. The sorta seafoam 6 Pixel does look really good and won't show as much fingerprints on the back.

          Avoid Mali.

I honestly can't understand how can someone hold a glass-back phone in his/her hands without a phone case - it is just a slippery as a piece of a soap!

Plastic back is literally the only thing FE has going against it. Samsung could've swapped out the telephoto module for a glass back, but they know people are going to put a case on their phones anyway. At least FE has lots of fun colours, something that Pixel 6 lacks.

Do you know how common this rampdump issue is? If Asus makes a poll, say 70% of users have experienced this issue. That means if I buy Zenfone 8, I will have a 7/10 chance of getting bricked. 🤦

After all, it's going to be the best if you upgrade from, say an S9 or Pixel 3 or Oneplus 6T, and you'll get the long software support and you'll be able to keep your phone for a long time.
But the way I see it is through a hardware perspective, if a phone has more sheer features (or same for lower price), it deserves more praise.

S... moreS20 FE almost matches the Pixel 6 in terms features, so now you're only weapon is long term software support? As I always say, pick the right hardware first, then you can tweak software later on. Android 12 was the biggest android overhaul, so 13 and 14 won't be as important, and anyways you don't need constant updates to keep using a phone for 4 years.

Adel J, 05 Nov 2021It's a shame to compare this beast with the S20 FE.Well... I just did. And the S20 FE surprisingly goes head to head with the Pixel 6 despite being cheaper. There is a reason why it got Marques' Smartphone MVP 2020.

Basically connection is great until you are at the very edge of a covered area - like my house.
My current pixel 3a xl will drop out of network every now and then, but that lasts seconds at max. Even if I miss a call because of that - I will never miss a text from vodafone about a missed call.
Pixel 6 behaves similarly at first (even though, sometimes getting faster mobile data out of -120dBm), but after a day or two it won't reconnect to mobile network after one of these "drop outs". I deliberately waited for an hour - it was consistently showing "no service", receiving no calls or texts.
By simply triggering airplane mode makes it reconnect.
Quite a number of other users did report similar things on reddit, so it seems like a common problem.

In the area of a good or acceptable coverage - pixel 6 connectivity is great, no doubt. (But in fairness, 4G on my 3a XL is only twice as slow in the areas where both 5G and 4G were showing 5bars - 150Mbit vs 70Mbit).

I'm glad you are happy with your device, but be warned - it might let you down one day and you will miss an important call or text.

As for a cheap look of s20fe - if I was into premium looking phones I would never bought pixel 3a xl (my current one) in the first place - I could not care less about the look.

I have already ordered s20fe - will see in a few days how its connectivity is performing at the edge of the world.

If you had a bad unit this doesn't mean it's a bad phone. FE is a mediocre phone and looks really cheap. Nothing better there and it's doesn't even compare to Google Pixel 6.

It is even more shame that some people had to return Pixel 6 because it's mobile reception is terrible when you are at the edge of the covered area. While I beat Snapdragon-based S20 FE will have no issues with it. (Will see actually, as soon as Google refunds me for Pixel, I'm going to buy S20 FE. I don't care about only two years of security upgrades as I tend to change phones way more often anyway; everything else is looking better on S20 FE).

U bye now s20fe , at the end of november 2023 , 2 year from now, samsung will stop making security updates to your phone ( u will get android 13 after 6 month of official realese like android 12 , too slow for a device of this price range ) .
tho pixel will be up to date till november of 2025 with a secuirty updates till november 2026
So pixel is still more future proof than s20fe .

                                    Good phone and battery life

Great device overall, but mobile connectivity issues are killing all the fun.
Phone will periodically drop out of mobile network entirely and will not reconnect until either a reboot or airplane mode toggle on/off. How can the very basic phone functionality be so badly broken in a new smartphone in 2021?
After having this phone for a few days I'm returning it - I can't afford missing calls & texts due to these glitches. (I do live in an area of a poor signal reception, but all my previous phones were able to reconnect very rapidly each time they drop out of network, while with Pixel 6 I've tried waiting for over 60 minutes seeing the "no service" message).
