Personally going to wait a few months after release to see if there's any bugs or defects ironed out :)

Harry V, 12 Aug 2021I mean sure, but I'm just wanting to see smartphones l... moreI get your point and they do get faster even with slower clocks. Higher instructions per clock means the chips execute greater number of instructions every clock cycle which depending on the clock cycle either increases the number of instructions completed per second or the very least makes it same as last gen. We as consumers dont get all small details of a chip when we buy these phones, so i totally understand basing everything off of clock speeds which is easy to find unlike IPC.
Also, having vertical integration will help google to optimise the process and actually make the phone feel faster than other phones. Another thing that can only be "felt" and not seen on paper. Again, all this is just speculation for now. We will have to wait for people to get hands on it for any facts at this point. It might be a disappointment this generation and they might improve next year, provided they dont scrap it all like a lot of other projects.
Also, technically, pixel 6 is faster than pixel 5 which launched with Snapdragon 765G, so it is an improvement generation over generation. I know this isnt what you meant, but just saying. I am not defending Google, as for all i know, this phone might end up being a waste of money if its not executed properly. So, lets just wait and see

It would be nice, if gsmarena would stop to write specs of unreleased devices. Occasionally, the "specifications" are not even based on a rumor and are just wishful thinking of gsmarena. And sometimes gsmarena even forgets to remove their fantasy specs after the product has been announced.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2021Its not always about CPU speed, the architecture matters mostI mean sure, but I think myself and many people prefer to notice speed as they upgrade their phones every year.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 20216.7" seriously?? Why not just make a 20" screen i... moreAs you might noticed size between 6.6" - 6.8" is somewhat like a standard for high-end flagships since 2020.

iPhone 12 Pro Max, Samsung G21 Plus and Ultra, Xiaomi Mi 11 and Ultra, OnePlus 9 Pro, Huawei P50 Pro and others are in that size range.

Not to mention that sizes increasing not only for just screen size, but because of bigger batteries, camera hardware getting bigger and bigger every year, not to mention other components. Don't expect a flagship package in a small size, because it is not possible, and then say why smaller one have tiny battery and only one or two sensors and small sensors.

It should be kind of obvious and not shocking at this point.

I like the back, but now trend is the ''under display camera'', so Pixel design is already obsolete.

Can't remember last time I used a headphone jack, probably my gaming PC.. wireless headphones no cords are the way to go. Also all the complaints about no memory card slot.. unless you are downloading lots of movies or what not who cares.

Sixmund penta, 02 Aug 2021I think my OnePlus 8 pro is still the best so far 😌Right im sticking with my oneplus 8t i think unless i see an sd card option and a more powerful battery. It's nice to have fancy screens and camera but if it chugs battery power it is pointless. We really need a new battery type thats slimmer and stronger in reality. And what is with the camera bulge on these high end phones. Your telling me they can't compact that technology better in 2021. If im dropping almost a grand on a phone i feel that it should look like a grand seeing as all these devices are built overseas anyways. But honestly one plus 8t is still blazing fast and if im buying from asian countries anyways i might as well pay there price and have twice the specs.

No no, so what actually happened was they thought the Pixel 6 Pro had a 1080P display (I know weird right), and they forgot to change the display ppi.
