My current phone also lacks it, and using an adaptor quality is not the same, even if it is an original adaptor. Now, my Skull candy earphones are useless.

[deleted post]That's what I'm wondering. Are they going to keep it in the price range of the other phones, or will it be priced like the 12 Pro or the S21? And will that be worth it with the extended software updates?

first google phone with Google Tensor chipset !
        please review it soon

It's nice, but how can it be justified if the CPU speed won't be faster than the standard 2.84GHz, like my phone from 2019

Dadey, 05 Aug 2021What is up with all these sh1t about 3.5mm headphone jacks ... moreTrue but also wrong.

It is obvious that 3.5mm going a way for good and SD card slots and it is funny for people still to expect it when it is completely obvious how market is changing and what brings profits.

But, some people also don't understand some things or lack knowledge. 3.5mm jack is gone because of profits and not because BT/Wireless earbuds or headphones are better, because they are not, insane prices for crappy or mediocre sound, but removing 3.5mm jack is already a profit and on top of it, brand pushes people to buy BT/Wireless product, insane profits.

Also very wrong about SD cards, unless you been buying cheap low end ones, professional SD cards are super fast, used in pro cameras and etc, capable recording 4K 120fps and 8K 30fps with ease.

Finally they shared the deets! However why aren't you Admins letting it appear in 'latest phones' category. Only Pixel 6 (not Pro) is there?!

Get over it already! it's 2021. Bluetooth TWS earbuds r widely used by A LOT of people and micro SD cards r SLOW!

                        For crying out loud....

Adubs, 05 Aug 2021It's going to be terrible. As usual large organisati... moreFirst of all, any new chipset (or any electronics for that matter) costs more in their early lifecycle as compared to end lifecycle.
Second, having developed their own chip gives Google the kind of vertical integration that Apple has. It might not be apparent, but going forward (provided Google doesn't scrap it off like so many of their other projects) this should enable them to not just support but enhance user experience. GCam is arguably the best when it comes to still photos. Google should be able to do much better if they have their own chipset, atleast theoretically.
As for sd card, not many people actually care about that nowadays. It might be cheaper, but the most people dont need extra storage, plus its much hassle free to store backups on cloud.
I am not saying it will be perfect. There are always downside. No phone is perfect, specially not for everyone.
As for looks, they are subjective anyways. Atleast it looks different than anything out there.
Google isnt forcing you to buy the pixel.
We should just be happy as long as there is more competition in the space. It overall is good for the end user. Maybe not price wise in current market😅.
I am just excited to see what can Google do when they design their own chip with a neural network and image signal processing chip built in.
They have had specialized neural core and visual core chips before, but having them integrated gives them chance for better optimization this time around. Lets see

As usual large organisation, this case Google completely missing the point.
How to make a smart phone 101 for Google...
Top of range chip. IE. Don't waste a ton of money making a collaborative chip. Use one already in market, for example top of the range early in year. So price is cheaper.
Mist importantly stock android, about all Google can do!
Thirdly pre existing cameras which have been shown to work, at least two on the back...
Fourth but not final, reasonable amount of space. IE. 256 GB or 512gb. If not at least SD card.
Reasonable other specs IP rating etc...
Finally two important factors for sale figures.... Price mid range, IE. Poco, Nord etc price range, and realeased or at least advertised before all the other brands released...
Guess I'll be getting something else and hoping that Google wake up and do better for pixel 7. 😂😂😂😂
