It beats them. Also, the Google photos features (magic eraser, photo unblur, etc.), are superior to Samsung S flagships. Pixel 7 also superior in boot up times, software and security updates, and overall smoothness of the scrolling and fluidity and finess of the the interface. For everything else, the Samsung S flagships massacre the Pixel 7.

In reality the screen is pretty cheap, with low resolution. Even Pixel 4 XL has much better screen resolution! The camera takes perfect shots but the only a way to enjoy those pictures is to download them and watch on a phone with better screen or a monitor as Pixel 7 low res screen doesn't let you see how good pictures are.

R.bartlett, 07 Feb 2023Wow never had a phone so over rated . I foolishly bought on... moreYou probably just had a lemon or was expecting way too much. The Pixel 7 battery life is actually pretty good. Gsmarena.com even mentions it in their review as one of the 'Pros'. My personal experience has been it outperforms my Samsung M23 5G despite the latter having a much lower powered processor and despite having a bigger 5000mAh battery.

As for heating issues, yes the Pixel 7 can heat up for some processor intensive tasks but nothing excessive or uncontrolled or abnormal or out of the ordinary for a flagship phone with powerful flagship grade processor.

Maybe you are on 5G network all the time which means faster battery drain and more heating compared to 4G only or 3G only or mixed use? Or maybe you are a heavy gamer?

Also, if the Pixel 7 is your first flagship phone, then you probably didn't know flagships in general heat up a lot more when under heavy processor load than midrange phones with lower powered processor. If you want minimal heating, you can opt for midrange phones powered by midrange processors. Of course, some flagships have better thermal designs so if you can't tolerate the heat from the Tensor processors or Exynos processors, then you may buy another flagship with snapdragon processor and from a manufacturer with better thermal design. But then again they may not perform as well as the Pixel 7 from a photography or software experience standpoint.

Wow never had a phone so over rated . I foolishly bought on review by supposedly those in the know.

1, battery life sucks big time. No way can anyone get through the day with normal use. It's way underpowered.
                    2 it over heats

One month in and it started to turn itself off, first once a day then several few days later had to hold the power button 30 seconds before it rebooted and now it's shut down completely whilst on charge on my desk and is dead.

I'm on a world cruise up a creek with no paddle,

First and last time for these Chinese rebadged junk!

Got my P7 after a decade of using Samsung S/Note series. Boy, what a heavy phone lol. But the software and camera is amazing.

                        Really disappointed.
Front glass is completely scratched after one month of usage, call drops are often, camera is overheating when using video call, bluetooth issues, issue on all browsers (stuck while loading page), apps like instagram and FB needs really long time to load new content.
Fingerprint sensor is a disaster, same as face unlock option.
I would not recommend this phone.
Annoying position of volume rocker below power button.

Compared it to the Samsung S22 Ultra a friend has and feels lighter.

Anyway, phone is so good, I never even gave a thought to weight.

Kalisto SP, 06 Feb 2023I'm waiting for the Pixel 7A but this one is really in... moreIt feels very light. I also really like the glossy back, not slippery but I put a case on and even with a Spigen doesn't feel heavy. The thing I like about it is 6-7 hours for screen on time, averages about 15 hours a day. It's slow to charge to 100 but to 50 it's about 30 mins. Screen is good, coming from a 120hz Samsung the 90hz is not super noticeable but side by side you can see it a tiny bit . Speakers are pretty terrible though but processor has handled everything with no slowdown and the camera is the best I've ever had.

Kalisto SP, 06 Feb 2023I'm waiting for the Pixel 7A but this one is really in... moreIt feels hefty for a 6.3" phone. It's actually heavier than Samsung's A7x 5G series of upper midrange phones with larger 6.7" screens and larger 5000mAh batteries. The heft adds to the premium feel however, and unless you have health issues, the extra weight shouldn't be a problem.

I'm waiting for the Pixel 7A but this one is really interesting too. The only thing I fear is the weight. How does it feel on the hand someone already got it ?
