Google Pixel 7

I've had the Pixel 7 for awhile now and I'll say that is not what I was expecting. Years ago I chose Android for its ability to customize over iOS. Many years with various brands only getting better and better.
Then I try the Pixel 7 and find it more like iOS than other Android's. Seems very closed compared to my S21U.
The phone itself functions good with little to no lag, probably due to the lack of widgets!
The optical fingerprint scanner is complete garbage compared to the ultrasonic that Samsung uses.
AND besides what I've already stated I can manage, BUT what will completely stop me from buying any other Pixel phone is the lack of a usb-c / HDMI out capabilities. Complete deal breaker!!!

I will not recommend Google Pixel 7 to anyone as the mobile had speaker issue within 1 week. Within 3 months the mobile is completely dead and not charging etc. Mostly frustrating thing for a user is there is no local service center and we need to post it to Mumbai and get it repaired. The estimation given is 20 business days, we're living in a digital world, living without mobile phone is completely meaningless. A product which is 50k should last at least for 1 year, but 2 issues within 3 months is such a waste of time. Google should change their option of repair to replacement and repair the old product and sell it as a refurbished one instead of losing their customer. I will definitely not recommend this product to anyone.

Terrible. Had a pixel 6 and moved to a 7 pro. Overheating issues with Google auto. Notification issues (after applying a fix). Applied April 2023 update and issues remain. Went back to my S22.

The closest they have is second space which is limited to one user and is buggy as hell that is why it's implemented only in some Xaomi phones and only in some MIUI versions.

Xiaomi intentionally removed it from many Xiaomi phone models due to numerous bugs and performance issues. For the phones that do have it like my Poco F2 Pro, it's still buggy as hell. Here's the link showing Second space has been missing (mostly in midrange Xiaomi phones): https://piunikaweb.com/2021/05/07/xiaomi-redmi-note-10-missing-second-space-but-there-is-a-workaround/#:~:text=Just%20flip%20the%20switch%20off,it%20as%20your%20Second%20Space.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2023You keep on mentioning 'app lock'. You don't... moreThis is actually wrong. Xiaomi's MIUI has a robust feature in Second space that serves as an alternative to multi user account. It's been there since a couple of MIUI versions ago now.
Make sure you check before making this kind of claims in the future.

Tanvir , 28 Mar 2023I've used this phone for 15 days, not a good experienc... moreYou keep on mentioning 'app lock'. You don't need it on
Pixel phones. You can actually create an entirely different account on the Pixel phone and register a different fingerprint to access it. Xiaomi and other Chinese phones don't have that multi user/multi account feature that is why a user would need an 'app lock' to prevent access to private information. 'App lock' is actually a solution to a problem that doesn't exist if only Xiaomi and other China based phones supported vanilla Android's multi-user capability. Also, the Pixel 7 selfie camera is not the best given it has lower resolution than
most other flagship phones from other brands but it is actually not as bad as you purport it to be. Engage Night Sight and it can even outperform many higher resolution selfie cameras from other flagship phones when shooting selfies in extreme low light.

I've used this phone for 15 days, not a good experience I would say. Lots of features are missing and it has network issue. And the front camera is totally Sh**t, I have 4 years old phone which front camera is far more clear and less noisy that this pixel 7 camera. Also front camera is kind of blurry, you would find video on youtube by searching pixel7 front camera issue.
The phone is smooth and back camera is one of the best I would say. Vibration is really great, sound is best in it's class. Feature wise very less option compared to the other competitors. For example, you can't even lock a app without installing any third-party app.

flagshipper, 15 Mar 2023so i bought Pixel 7 as a replacement of dead Flip3, thinkin... morePIXEL7 AFTER ONE WEEK
So i've fixed UI issues, and all works. Fingerprint is OK, pretty fast, but you will do bit mistakes as nothing compares to physical fingerprint.
What I like battery is fat. Stays charged until next day evening, with 4hours SOT. All despite its constant listening to events, "hey google", 24/7 song identification, sleep noise recording, and all classic wakelocks on, and BT devices connected nonstop.
What I tolly love is it ain't killing apps (despite above paragraph). Suddenly the absolutely difficult frustrations are gone. No longer blocked VPN, unreachable Signal, and dead MI Home notifications. Lot of functionality is recovered. Therefore, I will be switching other Samsungs to Google.
Productivity is the reason i can't go with blank firmware like Sony or OnePlus. Here on Pixel there are lot of extras, maybe not as much as on OneUI, but it's solid. The text extraction everywhere are excellent. Quick phrases are promising (but not reliable). Basic apps are solid. No bloatware! It's the world record, for the first time i'm not writing "pm uninstall" script.
Display is strong, zero backbleeding on low brightness. No brain piercing PWM blinking like on Samsungs. Readability is not as good as on Samsung, of course it won't push perfect brightness at dark or sunlight. Weird fonts don't help it either. But it's not mediocre.
Camera is good, brings way more light in dark scenes as opposed to Samsungs. Bokeh is also less crap (tho generally no bokeh is good if you view pictures on PC). I like real face colors.
What I miss about the phone is some visible wow factor. Like ability to fold or pop up camera or old features everyone want and not get "sd card / jack / notiflight / no-notch":)
