Melville , 07 Jun 2023Guys, anybody from Dubai, UAE who has bought the Pixel 7 Pr... moreBoth the Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung S23 are great choices. If the best camera performance is what you want, (at all costs), get the Pixel. Otherwise, the S23 does well in everything else and while not the best in the camera department, it ranks high up with the best camera phones. Whichever phone you buy though, make sure the phone is SEALED and REALLY brand new, not refurbished. Also, check network compatibility - Pixel phones don't support VoLTE and 5G when used in an unsupported country, and may have missing LTE and NR network bands necessary for the proper operation in your country. If you use a Pixel phone in an unsupported country, be sure you are ready and willing to take the high risk you will not get VoLTE and 5G support at all. Samsung phones tend to be more internationally available so buy one SEALED and BRAND NEW in your country to ensure proper network supoort and guaranteed aftersales support.

Guys, anybody from Dubai, UAE who has bought the Pixel 7 Pro? Google doesn't sell the phone but there are 3rd party resellers who are selling on Amazon etc without a full warranty? Apparently some of these are refurbished phones.

I want to get the P7Pro but definitely not risk getting used/ repaired one. Should I try getting one from US at higher price or should I go for Samsung S23 instead? (I'm upgrading from a Note 8 lol)

Heavy Games, 06 Jun 2023Many of your criticisms are fair.Ok. The Qualcomm Snapdrago... moreI only mentioned Google apps I don't use. Youtube is great, Google maps also. But for some reason I can't remove these Google apps I don't use on my Pixel but they're easily removable or not installed on my Samsung: Google calendar (can't uninstall on Pixel), Google drive, (can't uninstall - no longer free and unlimited for Pixel users), Files by Google (can't uninstall on Pixel - many better alternatives on playstore) , Google TV (can't uninstall on Pixel, Netflix is way better), Pixel tips (Hello? I've read them already, why can't I uninstall it?), Google Voice Recorder (can't uninstall on Pixel - very basic and inferior to Samsung's recorder), Safety app (Who needs this? Can't uninstall on Pixel) , Youtube Music (Can't uninstall on Pixel - Spotify and Amazon Prime is vastly better).

The Qualcomm Snapdrago... moreMy Samsung phone's 'object eraser' is actually MUCH FASTER THAN than my agonizingly slow Pixel phone's 'magic eraser'. It's at least as good as or even better than that on the Pixel in removing unwanted objects in the photo. It's the reason why I use it on my phone than pay gor a Google One subscription (or transfer photos from my Samsung to Pixel for free unlimited access to the very slow 'magic eraser').

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 absolutely smokes Google Tensor G2 and you can remove a majority of Samsung 'Bloatware' Apps very easily but here comes the problem you haven't acknowledged many amazing google apps Google Photos, Google Maps etc.

            https://droidwin.com/how-to-install-beyondrom-custom-rom-on-galaxy-s23-ultra/
But seriously, why would you install one when it's better than what the Pixel offers and is supported with even more (4) android version updates than even Google's Pixels (only 3)?
Just install a custom launcher like Nova prime and you can clone the interface of a Pixel or even an iPhone 14 Pro Max complete with an additional 'dynamic island' app that's vastly even more customizable than what you have on your iphone, if that's what you want? 😁

Good luck on the prison experience. 🤣 I own both the Pixel and a Samsung but I prefer Samsung's OneUI over the Pixel's default launcher every single time. It's only the camera that my Pixel 7 beats my S23+. And both outperform the best Apple has to offer in the camera department once the light levels drop.

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2023Of course you don't see them, they're all hidden ... moreYou obviously hate Samsung. You shouldn't because OneUI is the best implementation of Android. Not Google's, even if Google makes android. Samsung refines what Google makes and Samsung is where Google gets ideas from in its next iteration of android. I never denied that Snapdragon smokes Tensor, because I don't like Tensor either, main reason why I'm ditching my Pixel 6 Pro for an iPhone 14 Pro Max. But what's always funny is seeing Samsung trip over their own software hubris when their hardware is great.

Besides, unlike on Windows, ALL apps on Android have some degree of activity in the background and take up battery life - which is why I consider anything unnecessary on Android to be bloatware, and you should too.

Not to mention if you want to change the OS to anything besides the vile war crime that is OneUI? Have fun with that e-fuse and voided warranty. At least on this Pixel you CAN change to some pure AOSP ROM, while being able to maintain verified boot and SafetyNet, and go back whenever you please.

I shouldn't have to remove the bloatware in the first place.

Best thing for me to do is to never touch Scamsung's phones again, that's the best way to remove their bloatware. They will never, ever get an OS right and for that reason their phones will forever be out of my radar.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2023My dude, I don't want to see "optimizing 600+ app... moreVery funny. Never had that many apps in any Samsung phone. Even if I downloaded that many apps in addition to what you call as 'bloatware Samsung apps', it wouldn't take long because Samsung flagships' lightning fast custom made Snapdragon Gen 2 processor and UFS 4.0 internal storage absolutely smokes the Pixel 7 Pro's third rate Tensor G2 processor and outdated UFS 3.1 storage.

Besides, it's so easy to uninstall majority of the Samsung 'bloatware apps'. Besides, Samsung actually asks your permission whether or not to install many of those apps in the first place when you first set up the Samsung phone for the very first time.

Now I can easily uninstall Google bloatware apps in my Samsung phone but can't do so at all in my Pixel phone - bloatware apps from Google like Google calendar (I prefer another calendar app), Google drive, (I prefer OneDrive), Files by Google (I prefer Samsung's File Manager), Google TV (I prefer Netflix), Pixel tips (Hello? I've read them already, why can't I delete?), Google Voice Recorder (very basic and inferior to Samsung's recorder), Safety app (Who needs that) , Youtube Music (Inferior and expensive compared to Spotify), etc. Need I say more? The term 'bloatware' is relative. Now you know.

Pixel phones come with different network bands depending on the variant released specific to a country or region. If you imported an incompatible Pixel variant to your country, some network bands of your carrier may not be supported and Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) may not work. These are issues that you need to be aware of before buying any phone (not just a Pixel), especially those that may have not been exclusively released for your country.

I bought the phone approx. 5mths ago. I had continual issues with missed calls and calls dropping out. I assumed this was a carrier issue and changed carriers, after several different carriers I became suspicious about the phone.

I started to pay more attention to the phone and saw that the signal indicator had an exclamation mark on it, I had no data and couldn't receive calls. I rebooted the phone and all was fine again, received several missed call SMS's. I reached out to Google support and after several hours of "troubleshooting" was asked to supply bug reports.

I supplied the requested bug reports and after a month, several missed calls, internet dropping out, updates applied, resetting the device It still drops the signal for extended periods. Again I reached out to Google support this time requesting an RA number to get a refund from the retailer. I was told they couldn't give me one but it was a known issue. I would have to take it into the retailer.

I went into the retailer and was told I needed an RA number from Google!!

The phone has an issue that they know about, Google refuse to do anything about it and palm me off to the retailer. The retailer palms me off to Google. The phone doesn't do it's core functionality and provide a reliable cellular connection.

                              Don't buy this phone!
