The camera is great. I acknowledged that, but excuse me for expecting a brand new phone to (in every aspect) be at least equal to or better than a 3 year old model. At the end of the day general usability of a device is vastly more important than how great its telephoto zoom is - so when usability is not only unimproved, but in some cases worse than the 3 year old model, Google deserves some criticism.

Why is it so hard for Google to fix 2x portrait mode? It's been so bad ever since the release of Pixel 6 series. It's the same on the Pixel 7... Why, just why?

Not overly impressed. This is a brand new flagship model, I expect a flagship experience - unfortunately this is not the case. The camera is incredible (truly) and the battery life is great, but that's it. There's nothing else that's notably improved (and a lot that got worse) over my aging pixel4.
All the glowing reviews out there are way too lenient on Google.
The overall touchscreen sensitivity is a constant frustration (with no screen protector) and this increases if you use 3-button navigation. Fortunately I don't mind using gesture navigation, but the touch sensitivity issues basically force you to use it. With 3-button you will find yourself repeatedly tapping the nav buttons to try and get it to register a touch.
The fingerprint reader is trash. Literal trash. I thought they'd improve on this after the pixel6 issues, but no. The pixel4 is vastly superior.
Overall I rate my pixel4 higher in general day to day usability.

z, 18 Oct 2022my first pixel, probably will be the last. 1. search bar, ... moreabout the fingerprint sensor, it is optical, you have to turn on some light to be able to register your fingerprint, it is not like the ultrasonic in samsung that you can do it with the panel locked, that's why i hate optical sensors, that lagaso of light that strip on the face in low light conditions which is how i like to be at home...about facial unlocking it is the same case you should light up your race a bit to be able to take the reading of your face, remember this is not like the complex unlocking the iphone that has special sensors, infrared and all that

Was a bit anxious before getting the Pixel 7 Pro delivered that some reviews were saying that it has bad battery life and has heating issue. Got the phone, turned it on, ran all the updates and set it up. Has been flawless and the battery has been amazing, an easy 7+ hour SOT and no heating issues whatsoever. Google have really worked some magic on the phone this time.

my first pixel, probably will be the last.
1. search bar, time and weather can't be removed from home screen, you like other time/weather/search widget? change to a 3rd party launcher.
2. you need to turn on the screen first to use the fingerprint unlock or face unlock. even a $200 redmi can unlock while the screen is off.
3. gesture bar always take bottom space on your screen, don't have option to hide or set to transparent like any other andriod phones. even in google own app (eg. google map) it can't be overlap. bye bye full screen.
4. did some research how to resolve above "bugs" without root and found google said no way, these are features, you will love it.
5. battery drain fast, charge slow

So far so good, it really feels like P6Pro, only with better battery life and some tweaks on some places.
Can't wait for some free time to stretch those photographic legs.

- Gaming like Asphalt legend 9, Mortal Kombat and similar games
- Music and videos straight outta YouTube.
