Going Samsung sensor will mean more relying on Googles A.I. Picture taking team because they are worse than Sony and I'd say even omnivision sensors.

I REALLY hope that is a rumor that they're eliminating the 512GB option. Not everyone wants to use Cloud, there's no expanded memory, and iPhones can freakin' go up to 1TB.

Thekeyman1, 30 Sep 2022I'll wait for the official announcement of this device... moreI had the same idea with the pixel 6 pro last year, I honestly wouldn't bother, overpriced junk like the pixel watch will be on release. This will be one of the worst flagships of 2019...sorry 2022, like the 6 pro was last year.
Same performance from a 2018/2019 SoC but worse data and WiFi connectivity (6 pro is awful), average cameras (the main wide cam is the only good camera on the 6 pro and its the exact same cameras on the 7 pro so that'll save you time. People completely overblow googles cameras, they're not the best and rely on computational photography to get them "good"), it'll have bad battery but also overheat, the screen is weak and scratches from very little while the camera visor WILL badly chip just sitting on a surface, mine did, every pixel phone in store I've seen has too. It'll also have constant software bugs that WILL NOT BE FIXED or better, 1 problem might get fixed in an update but 4 new problems will occur, oh and constant hardware problems too.
Oh and if you like using a physical connection to your headphones then be careful, my 6 pro wouldn't accept my £200 wireless over ear cans via 3.5 jack dongle so you have to have certain headphones that it'll work with (wired). Also my 6 pro would take 2-4 hours to charge, sometimes wouldn't charge at all when it said it was and that was using a 66w charger that worked with every other device including iPhones. It wouldn't even accept the original cable with that charger so that's also another problem you could face with the 7 Pro. Also if you like IOS and how restrictive it is then you'll love pixels because they are really pushing for the same logic except on android and with no positive consistency. It's restrictive and boring vs every other android phone, like the barebones android experience but with more bugs and disappointment.
Owned the 6 pro for 5 months (got it January so after the release of the 1st batch of pixels 6/pro of phones were released and it had all updates supposedly fixing all the issues) I've now had an Oppo Find X5 for 3 and wish I'd never gone pixel and I Will NOT go back.

I'll wait for the official announcement of this device Oct 6th. But I'm a little concerned about this device's features. I have yet to get a Google pixel phone and was hoping the pixel 7 pro would change that. We'll see

They consider Tensor G2 as more power efficient and seamless OS experience as compared to Snapdragon.
Also to keep the uniqueness of processor in their flagships.

notafanboy, 28 Sep 2022Who cares about ultrawide?It's more of a useful tool and not meant for taking high quality pictures, so it's not to be compared like main camera like these reviewers do. In some situation where space is limited, it allows one to capture more without needing to step further back, so it's used as a last resort.
Another useful thing is ability to capture from very close, so you can take photos of small objects with great detail. Not exactly macro photography. I think, this is where a good sensor for ultrawides could help, rather than it's usual task.
Telephoto camera is more for taking good quality photos.

Honestly, since the only major upgrade this year from last year seems to be the new Tensor G2 CPU, I feel like calling the phones Pixel 6s and Pixel 6s Pro would be more accurate, and the new 'a' series later next year could be called the 6a Plus or Pro.
It's a confusing naming scheme, I know, what I'm getting at is that I'm not sure that advertising the phone as a whole new generation would be the right thing to do this time(but then again, it's better for them financially i guess)
