Google Pixel 7 Pro unboxing

We're done with the hands-on, now it's time to dive deeper into the Google Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 7. Let's start with an unboxing. The Pixel 7 series adhere to the recent norm of poor retail boxes. There's a USB-C cable and a USB-A to USB-C dongle.

The Pixel 7 Pro is clearly bigger than Pixel 7 but make no mistake, both phones are large in the context of the smartphone market. The Pro is 212g, while the 7 is just 3g shy of 200g.

There are subtle differences between Pro and vanilla. The Pro's frame is shiny, polished metal, while the vanilla is matte. We're torn between the two approaches so it's very much a matter of subjectivity.

What you do get with the bigger phone is a bigger display, naturally, and this year the gap is wider. The Pixel 7 Pro retains the 6.7-inch diagonal of its predecessor, while the Pixel 7 has gone down by point of an inch to 6.3-inch. The screen on the Pro is also better and refreshes faster, while the battery is 645mAh larger.

The cameras is where the Pixel 7 Pro stands out the most. It has a proper zoom in the 5x periscope but its ultrawide is wider and can focus.
