packersfan0036, 27 Oct 2023This is a hell of a phone for the price!Cheap because they use GG3, same material as that on 2013 phones. 😭

Got this phone yesterday. Great cameras and screen. Snappy. Battery life could be better, screen on time great but standby drain is an issue. Prefer it to the S23 I had before and it was a fraction of the price. High hopes for Pixel 8a.

Great phone. I really like Pixel phones, the user experience is very good, and it is truly a pleasure to work with pure Android.

I'm impressed with the fingerprint scanner working surprisingly well for an optical under display scanner and performance is great. The battery life is decent as well. Unfortunately the software is on lockdown like Soviet Russia and won't let you even install APK files (after enabling unknown sources). So it's basically an iPhone with Google's stuff pre-installed. Very bad for a company who create software to free you from the Apple prison. I'm returning this s***e and getting a OnePlus phone because I want to actually own a phone I've paid almost £500 for.

Does anyone know if the idle battery drain and overheating issue is still there or did it fix with the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro release.

It's not worse as you guys claim. My only problem is charging speed which I already know 18w will be so slow. The phone doesn't do well with intensive gaming too. But my phone doesn't drain like you claim even when I don't off my data. Google embedded some AI features which you have to turn so many of them off because you won't need them. I use my phone full day on a single charge if I don't play games.

I would like to buy this phone as I see it as a mid range phone. Apparently, this phone is on sale and cheaper than the A54 not sure if this is a good deal. Need your opinions pixel 7a users.

I was planning to get the standard 7 in the upcoming sales thinking its better than the 7a at least. I dont know what to do now! Obviously a weak modem will affect me significantly. And I am due an upgrade from my rather old Pixel 2 XL. I wonder how so many on reddit say theres no problem with network reception on their devices!!!

I decided to test the battery life after the Android 14 update so last night I charged the phone to 100% and left it unused on a table overnight. That was at 10pm. This morning at 6am the battery was down to 66%. How did a phone use 34% of the battery when it was lying unused for 8 hours without being used?

How are the viewing angles with a white background? I currently have a Pixel 5 and I can't stand its poor viewing angles with Light mode enabled. You can clearly see a bluish tint when you look at it a bit from the side (cooler temperature).

And how is the GPS module? According to some reviews, the GPS module is not very accurate (worse than Pixel 5's)... There are even complaints about this issue in forums...
