P8 Pro have plenty of power, efficiency could be better though. The worst and non-excusable thing is still using UFS3.1 memory.

The longer you own a phone the slower it feels and the choppier it gets, better base performance allows you to have better longevity. Additionally gaming performance is superior in stronger chips by default, if I buy an iPhone I get some of the best gaming performance, if I get a Pixel I have to think about what settings to use. Midrange level performance is unacceptable for a 1k dollar phone. If I were to buy a phone for day to day tasks only I'd buy a midrange phone, like the "majority" of people, not a flagship.

Stop making excuses for poor hardware and poor value.

jiyen235, 25 Dec 2023complaining about what one does with something they buy wit... moreThing is most consumers dont even care about absolute raw chip performance nor even notice the difference, all these complaints are from spec nerds, or even from people that use cheap up to mid range phones. Even several years old flagships are plenty powerful and fast.

Brightlight, 24 Dec 2023December update significantly improved the gaming performan... morecomplaining about what one does with something they buy with their money is pretty stupid especially when the phone is expensive. If this were a midrange phone like the Poco F5 Pro the backdated chip would've been fine, but this costs as much as a Oneplus 11 if not more, at that point the iPhones are more enticing if someone wants a closed off "barebones" kind of experience. The Pixel 2 and the Nexus 6P were the most balanced google phones, no glaring issues just a different taste for an android flagship. If the Pixel 8 were the same price as before I wouldn't have complained but the price hikes just aren't justifiable for the mid chip. If they can't have high performance at least aim for high sustained performance and low heat. They can't do either right. The battery efficiency is better than before but not as good as the competitors so yeah, the complaints are justified imo at least. The Pixels also have slower storages, and the base Pixel 8 maxes out at 8 gb of ram. Instead of focusing on AI features which most people would use 10% of the time, say it's cool and then forget about it, they should focus on a better experience that would benefit more people, if they wish to sell more and to create a better product. The pixel series is the type which can be improved just by providing updates to the software instead of the hardware, their main features are software ones so why bother releasing phones yearly?

For gaming someti... moreDecember update significantly improved the gaming performance of Tensor G3, GPU saw 20% to 30% performance boost, in some cases doubled the FPS, phone literally was operating on outdated kernel test drivers. With next major update it is mentioned to improve yet again, as on latest Beta version, performs even better than on latest stable version. So it is pretty decent now. Yet I don't get "gaming" on a phone in general, there are better ways of procrastinating and wasting time, at the same time heavily wasting and degrading battery.

For heavy emulation it works as a midrange chipset from 2021. It performs extremely good if you don't do heavy tasks.

G3 goes between 8+ Gen 1 and 8 Gen 2. Which is around in between the two.

It is behind for sure compared to the newest top of the line chips, but yet in manages to do certain things better or even faster, like certain rendering scenarios and etc. Snapdragon with TSMC is finally pushing Apple, which is great.

But mentioning 865 is just funny, even G2 was better than 888. So yeah, sounds like it is your hobby to spread random nonsensical "facts".
