Hello, for all those who do not like the Pixel 8 Pro, I want to say. I've had the phone since December and I'm a heavy user. With some settings that you can read about in all the forums, the Pixel is an amazing phone. What I've done: LTE network mode, adaptive tethering off, adaptive charging off, adaptive battery off, YouTube, YouTube music and chrome disabled, high screen resolution, no smooth display, health service disabled, screen wellbeing off, all over time I'm in battery saving mode, location I only use when needed the rest of the time it's off. For browser I use BRAVE. up to 20%, my phone has seven, eight hours of screen time. In wi-fi mode and in mobile network mode, the screen time is more or less the same. the phone is super fast, for the rest it makes no sense what to say, you know everything. My phone is pixel 8 pro 512gb. I'm super happy with the phone for me it's an amazing device even though it uses a samsung chip. I personally would recommend the phone with two hands, but of course everyone makes their own choice! I wish everyone health and all the best!

Because, Google Play is actually available on HarmonyOS 4. The HarmonyOS uses Android Open Source Code, which means you can use the Google services except for Google Wallet. That's how I used and using the Mate 60 Pro Plus phone for 7 months right now.

the ugliest design for the back of the camera that has ever been made, I certainly respect the choice, but compared to any other brand of phone, this looks more like a children's toy from 10 years ago, they need a redesign urgently, this one is a shame to take out of the pocket and that goes for everyone pixel phones

I strongly recommend it. Additionally, my mother is using the S24 Ultra yellow version and I have tried the AI features and I think it is overhyped. Now, don't get me wrong, the S24 Ultra is a really good phone however, the Samsung's marketing strategy was very overhyped. Especially the Galaxy AI features.

Fast 0-day issues are issues that comes after public release. Sometimes people makes mistakes and apple with samsung are the fastest to fix what they did wrong.
USB power delivery pause - is super useful. While charging and playing games power only goes to cpu/gpu and your phone is super cool. Usually when you are charging and gaming your battery heats up and in a long run that's bad. This feature helps to avoid it. Of course if you are changing your phone every 1-2years that's not an issue. This feature would be awesome too along side waze, google maps while driving for longer distances.
"Alternative to 10-15 modules that goodlock = just download alternatives apps on store....(do you really need those customizations???)"
Ability to change UI, features on stock launcher is super useful. For example I've removed battery, NFC, light mode icons from the status bar, changed clock UI to see AM/PM, customized individually volume bar, removed unnecessary settings from my settings panel, changed icon sizes and so on. I've made changes to the UI I want without root or adb commands and so on. Everything is built in. With simple apps you can't do that, at least not all features that I've mentioned.
And I doubt it's wise to compare it to huawei nowadays especially when they don't have gplay. In most countries without gplay you can't access banking applications and similar sensitive applications.
If you are fine with huawei hooray but if you want most feature packed phone that's samsung, second pixel and so on. I was using huawei until US banned them.

For example, Samsung Smart Tag = Huawei tag. 7 years of software update = HUAWEI HarmonyOS. Circle to search = just download Google Lens on every phone or just ask to Google Assistant. Spelling and Grammar AI = just download Yandex keyboard and set it for the default keyboard. Samsung DEX = Huawei desktop mode. Fast 0-day issue fixing = I don't understand you. after using my pixel for 8 months, I have found it lacking drastically.
I used the samsung s22ultra before the pixel and I can not say the pixel was an improvement.
as a power user, my devices often have 4 to 5 duties while i use it, android auto, messages, calls, teams meetings and data share. Everytime I did that with my samsung, it worked just fine, but my pixel, either starts to over heat, starts to stutter or just freeze every time. sometimes it would just stop navigating all the way till i disconnect the phone, close out everything before it comes back to life.
I'[m a pixel fan, but man, I am so disappointed in its execution. Love material u, the camera, the ui smoothness and all the wonderful ai features. But dare i say it, its on the wrong device. Google needs to get their act together and try adding a snapdragon option.

Don't get the typical comment, it's that Samsung sells the Exynos for 40 dollars and Qualcom's 8gen 3 costs 5 times that... So tell me something, how is it that Meizu, a company that is even going downhill to close the business of phones, can you mount the qualcom flagship soc plus the ultra sonico fingerprint reader? And Google, one of the richest American companies on the planet, can't do this on its phones? Google
should fire that CEO they have there and look for someone young who knows about technology.
Excellent review bro, I don't think anyone can give a better review than this!! It's not a bad phone, the bad thing is that shitty processor it has.

Day one Pixel 8 Pro owner here. Thought I’d share my experience, after over 6 months of ownership.
TLDR : Positives = Camera quality, great design | Negatives = everything else
The positives : Camera (world class photos AND videos), beautiful and unique design. Very long software support, albeit with the following you’ll understand no one would willingly keep this phone seven years, so it’s not really a positive.
First off, we must address the elephant in the room. Battery life. This phone charges PAINFULLY slow and discharges EXTREMELY fast. The opposite of what you want, right ?
The 10 minutes top ups to 50% is a concept Google seemingly never heard of. You want half a charge ? Better sit & wait half an hour.
Now the discharge, and this is where the real drama clocks in. This phone EATS battery, ON IDLE. On your average 9 to 5 workday (no camera, no games, just basic apps) you’ll head home with 15% tops. Phone dead by 7pm, then full charge will eat 90 minutes off your schedule, better not be in a hurry.
Now try to make a bit of power usage out of your power user phone : A bit of pictures for work at 10am, a short 4K video at 1pm, a bit of Fallout Shelter on the toilet at 2pm. You’re now looking at a 4pm shutdown.
Now let’s go real on the camera, after all this is a camera flagship and it should be your reliable companion on a field day. Starting at 10 am : pictures, videos, a bit of editing, about 40 pictures taken and 3 videos of 10 minutes each. Shutdown at 1PM.
The CPU just eats battery on IDLE doing NOTHING. Throw anything heavy at it and you’ll head home with a dead phone, one that died long before your day was over. Simple as that.
Keep in mind that this is my experience with a 6-month-old device, and it will get worse and worse as the battery cell degrades over time. One can only wonder how many cell replacements this phone will need to get to the end of its famed software support.
Now we need to talk UI and animations because this isn’t good either. Stellar 120hz OLED panel and stock android should be a recipe for smoothness, but not here. Actually, some animations including the cool lock screen clock aren’t even 60hz. Switching apps isn’t 120hz either, nor is scrolling. More like 40-90hz tops, and never constant, with the occasional but very rare peak at 120. This phone FEELS slow, and yet feel like it's struggling to achieve slowness.
One day I had to handle a coworker’s A54 to tweak a few things. I was SHOCKED by the smoothness, this was indeed true 120hz, which only happens a few times a day on Pixel 8 Pro. I realized what I was missing on by handling an Exynos mid-ranger.
I understand the need for a dynamic framerate, not locked at 120hz all the time to save battery. But only reaching 120hz 8 times a day and still having a mediocre battery life wasn’t what I had in mind.
Finally, the optical, under-display fingerprint scanner. This, my friends, is an antique piece of hardware that belongs to a museum. Remember the Huawei Mate RS from 2018 ? One of the first phones with UDFS. The technology was so experimental and unreliable, that Huawei also included an optical fingerprint sensor on the back of the device, just in case. Well, this is what you have on the Pixel 8, and no optical sensor backup in sight.
Sometimes, it can take up to 2 full seconds of contact to….successfully fail to unlock. After it fails 3 times or so, it will ask you to enter your password, making one-hand unlocks a luck job. Sometimes it will successfully unlock after a couple tries, but a couple tries of 2-3 seconds each makes unlocking your phone a five second job which is just painfully slow.
The occasional one tap magic is as rare as the occasional 120hz peak in the UI.
I remember seeing this phone as a much better pick than the generic Galaxy and the boring iPhone, but I’d rather go boring or generic than having to handle this mess of an hardware Google sold me for 1159€.
