microg may not be "Secure" but google doesn't know you meanwhile (unless you sign in to google with it).
It's almost same thing as having normal Android without G account after limiting some permission from playstore.
Therefore, I don't see Graphene being better at all, in fact, microg has more straight approach to its goal (to be private).

Sandboxed Play Services are confined using the highly restrictive untrusted_app SELinux domain, and the user can revoke permissions from Play Services as they wish. On the other hand, CalyxOS runs MicroG as a privileged application within the system_app SELinux domain, which is generally more permissive. From a security point of view, GrapheneOS seems to have a much better approach."

MrSTTEK, 19 Dec 2024apples and orangesNope.
For ex. think about Playstore sandboxing that G pitches about.
You get basically same thing with others if you put MicroG, in fact, MicroG is more private.
BL locking can also be done on Calyx.
I'm just saying, you can do almost same things with others, not to mention that most average people don't even need these features nor would they know how to use them.
So that's that.

And how about the issue of adaptive brightness. I always thought turning it off and manually adjusting it ti your likeness is much better and saves battery.

I don't think so unless you lock / unlock your device too often.

It is preferable not to touch the settings as you may later end up turning them back on due to something not working well.

Here's another question. I heard that turning on the Adaptive brightness saves battery life? I thought it's the opposite.

Tell me who has Pixel phone, how the hell you block the phone , from browser for example, if they have power button higher than volume button? Why? Every other phone has it right.

Gino76ph, 12 Dec 2024I hated the "duality" of the Xiaomi and Samsung (... moreYea. well it's difficult to say about these brands.
As for my personal opinion -
Samsung - Nah (I don't think worth the price in general, and hard to flash)
Xiaomi - Not recommended to average people unless you are a hardcore custom rom flasher like me.
OnePlus - Kinda OK if you stay somewhere close to their service center.

Yes, usually around 1 ~ 2 weeks though, the more you have apps installed, the more it takes to adjust.

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2024Pixels, especially after 7 are well balanced phones, not to... moreI hated the "duality" of the Xiaomi and Samsung (and OnePlus) phones... dual 1st-party apps, dual app stores, dual everything. Not to mentioned bloatware and ads. The irony is that Xiaomi and OnePlus may perform slightly better than a Samsung in terms of everyday use. In my opinion Motorola is somewhere in the middle of the road. I strongly think they offer the best of both worlds...less bloatware and more useful 1st-party features, almost no ads but with very decent camera system and performance.
I've had the Pixel 8 for a week tomorrow. And i think i'm starting to notice the battery life beginning to "stabilize" as i (almost) constantly left with 30% by 9pm. If i use it during my holiday i may get slightly less than that due to weak network signals and lots of taking photos.

I heard there some settings on the Developer Options and Play Store that you can change to help squeeze out more batteries?
And is it true that battery life would "stabilize" after 1-2 weeks of phone usage?
