An interesting take on Pixel phones would be resaleability. Where I live, most retailers give you vouchers / discounts if you trade a Samsung or an iPhone, thus making the Pixel less attractive. Sure, you can use it for a long time, but... I'd dare say a future Galaxy A19 might even match Pixel 9's performance and possibly cameras. Not to mention the battery will be new and will last much longer. I've come to an interesting conclusion: update cheap (not A06 cheap) and often.

haha, 19 Aug 20241000 euro seriously? For what? For Google name on it?No matte... moreFor a lot of things. This phone is all about software. You'll get 1 year subscription to "gemini advanced", video boost, "Satellite SOS right out of the box" and so on. Pictures one of the cleanest of all flagships, 7 years of major OS upgrades. Other goodies which comes with this phone you can find googling. I think you can do it somehow you managed to find this opinion forum and wrote absurd post :))

Maybe isn't worth 1000£, but with trade in, you save a lot. I preorder P9 P, 256GB and with trade in(pixel 6) I saved 304£. Ordered from Google store.

The early antutu scores do not seem heavily favored for this phone. Only around 1 mil. That's too shabby for a 2024 flagship considering you are going to perform against Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and A18.

Fantastic design, the best since the Pixel 6 Pro. The selfie camera looks great after an overhaul. The camera will surely be even better overall. However, I think it will be worth it to wait for 3-4 months and then buy one for below $700, as the prices will come down in the used market and there will be further deals and discounts.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2024Google with its latest phone still stuck at 27W wired charg... more127W charging is kind of a lot for a lithium ion battery as opposed to a lithium polymer battery, li-ion cells are much more sensitive to heat than li-poly, that's why basically any li-poly equipped phone has fast charging speeds and li-ion phones are still charging at 45W, though google should still be ashamed given that they could at least go up to 40W for an acceptable charging speed... 🤔

I own a current Pixel. Would I pay £1,000 for a pro 9? Absolutely not. Whilst Google might think they are a premium brand in my opinion they are not. Having also owned a Galaxy S, it looked and felt far more premium. It was far slicker to use. In a pub no-one ever asks to see your pixel but they're all over a new galaxy. To me, I'd pay £750 for Pro XL, £650 for the Pro, £550 for the 9. Above that, I'd rather pay the difference and get a Galaxy S or iPhone.

Oh dear Google! Just like Samsung, you haven't noticed the cost of living increases experienced by the vast majority of Europe and North America.
This year's pricing for the Pixel 9 range is woeful for the 128GB base models. Whilst I buy a phone mainly for the camera capabilities coupled with an okay processor, I'll hang on for another year with my 7 Pro and maybe consider the Pixel 10 range before upgrading next year or, perhaps I'll splash-out on a Pixel 8 Pro.
A plus point of the Pixel range is how the phones offer the majority of LTE frequency bands for worldwide travellers such as myself although Sony and Samsung also offer the same for Android users along with Apple for iPhone users.
It's great to have the option of a more compact Pro model although not at the prices being charged.
