What do people have to feel if they buy a device at launch price to see it drop seriously a little while later. Of course that goes for almost all brands and devices (besides Apple of course who seems to be able to sell old crap at nearly the same launch price). It's a normal evolution but in case of the Pixel phones this happens more quickly than with other brands (except in Belgium where I live :-( ).

The A devices are always junk & drop to bargain basement prices after a year... will never buy them.. I would rather just get a Pixel 8 over this.. cheaper & nicer to use with 6.2".

Glass 3 for 500euros, ugliest design ever. A total disapointment. Mag7 have become completely shameless.

I have mixed feelings with the Pixel phones. My first encounter with them was with my Pixel 6 5G and that was a good experience besides the somewhat weak battery performance. Luckily that device was equipped with a decent, power efficient, although not top of the line chip-set from Qualcomm while the phone itself was promoted as top of the bill back then. Next one in line was the 7a which was a decent phone with great software but with the slightly less horrible but still sub par, second gen in-house Tensor chip-set. That one had a horrible battery life and the phone didn't help with the smaller than standard battery size. While I'm in no way a power user I still managed to get the phone very toasty in terms of heat. Last experience was with an 8a, the 3rd gen Tensor did things much better, even in the battery efficiency and size department meaning that I could at least get through one whole day with some battery left in the evening, a thing that wasn't possible with my 7a. Heat was still an issue, even with day-to-day tasks but less toasty than the 7a. The build was nice and the stock Android, my favourite experience, was great. Never the less it had too much small annoyances to keep the phone so I ended up selling it on and went for another brand. A major issues with all Pixel phones, in my opinion, is the price. They are too expensive for what they actually offer. This new A-series one looks great, no denying about that (at least to my taste). I love the fact that there is finally again a phone with a flat and almost flush sitting camera isle. I love the fact that these A-series use plastic backsides instead of glass. But that's about it. Looking at other full reviews, google went for the cheap again by offering a tuned down chip-set compared to the current Pixel 8 series (not 8a), a worse modem and an insufficient RAM (but that's only an issue if your are into AI, which I'm not). Another plus is the compact size. Overall the price is the biggest let-down as it is more expensive than the 8a when it came out and you don't get more that increased price. They are just trying very hard to mimic the Apple way of doing things (like sell crap at exuberant prices) but that simply doesn't work with a brand that hasn't a loyal fan base and doesn't have an ecosystem that is that seamless as in the Apple world. So Google, keep on dreaming or do the effort of really believing in the products that you sell. Stop doing it the Microsoft way where there isn't any vision at all, no matter which product you speak of.

Currently using the 6a. Reason stock software and great cameras for the price. Bad overheating issues and average battery life. Even at 60Hz the 6a is way smoother than my previous Galaxy A52 5g, reason One UI. It's slow & jittery (even@120Hz) also horrible shutter lag, plus side - good battery life. If Samsung made a stock Android phone and ditched One UI they would have a clear winner. I had a Moto G Fast before that with near stock Android, pretty good phone overall but lack of long term support keeps me away from Moto. Even with the poor night time camera experience I would choose Moto all the way if they had better software support. In summary Samsung better hardware, Google better software experience, pick your poison ;)

I still use my Pixel 7a. Thnking of swapping into 9a or 10a potentially next year. 7a been okay, I even got that new feature of charging only up to 80%. From standpoint of usability, only it gets a bit too warm sometimes, but I also use it as second camera for YouTube videos so...

Sure you are trying to justify a phone with bad performing chip and mediocre performance but what's the point? Denying reality? Or you are trying to cope with your bad choice?

This phone is pure garbage at that price point...nothing more, nothing less. The best of the lineup just because it's the cheapest one and it still costs too much. Even if not considering chinese phones (that offer just better overall quality and UX) the galaxy a56 is miles better (except on the processor that is slightly faster on the pixel but I'd rather prefer better cameras, software, build quality, after-sale support, ecosystem and aesthetics).
Also, what is google even doing using Gorilla Glass 3 in 2025? at 600 euros? Are they serious? I still can't process that...

Got a really good deal for 8a ~ € 330 ($ 340). Battery seems alright but phone tends to get warm if you push it (lots of generative wallpaper AI) - not unbearable. But in standby it's ice cold! Was looking forward to 9a, but at € 550... uuuf, you drive a hard bargain (as female goblin NPCs in WoW would say) :))

That phone is using a Qualcomm processor, in general Samsung fab chips generally are not as efficient. Or maybe it's the modem, not sure but either way with the same usage I get about 2 hours less screen time on the Pixel 6a. Battery life got much worse when I was overseas in an area with poor cell coverage. (So probably the modem) Although Google stock software is so much smoother OneUI and the A52 5g has shutter lag when taking pictures.

Currently using the Pixel 6a, also waiting for the GSMarena review. Don't think the 9a has enough upgrades to make me switch. Bezels are just as bad as the 6a which is several years old and I'm not going to get started on Apple's eye sore "dynamic island" especially when watching videos or gaming.
My main issues with the 6a that have frustrated me is overheating especially when mobile hotspot is on, so I'm not even sure I want another Pixel A phone with a geriatric modem. (Google never replied back about it) I can live with thick bezels, heck iphone users have that DI eyesore, but not with phone overheating. I always watch out for the GSMarena chip throttling review and battery life expectations. Pixel phone cameras are possibly the best in the business (North America user) just wish the battery life was more impressive (cough Samsung/Tensor Fab)
