Nah no need to pop a vein fellas. Just vote with your wallet and get either a 6P/angler, LeEco Le Pro 3, Axon 7 or 1+3. Problem solved as a stopgap. Google will normalize the prices on they get their numbers in. It won't be pretty for them sure but they'd still want to move the units. Give it a couple or 3 months.

What Google has to realize is that we didn't want an iPhone copycat for Android; we wanted a Nexus 6P with updated specs and AT LEAST a micro SD card slot. Oh well...

At last Google could not resist, thousand dollars tags, by looking at duffer public paying same for iPhone 7 even with 3rd years old design. Why not them, no waterproof or extra ordinary getup, most dud design, if still they can sell, I am afraid he'll is here!
