That tech's been around since the Galaxy SIII. A flagship phone like this would certainly be Super AMOLED.

I just have to say this u guys say nexus never have sd are u dumm the first version of nexus haloo made by htc did have and sd slot and i hope this one will have one also simce its htc..i like htc always samsung is ok not the best sony is ok apple is a peace of garbage for dum ppl where ever u go u see iphone everywhere like there is no other brand phone have i phone once and wold never buy one again.. lg is a good phone to..but lets stay in pixel topic some ppl say the design is crappy to my opinion its a nice piece of hardware and will buy it any day.. specification is good for nexus line up even thou its called pixel now. Why would u want 6 gb of ram are u guys miximg music or run 100 apps at once because 6 gig wont help u.. this is stock android it doesn't take a lot of ram like stupid samsung or any other phone that use their owm stupid launchers thats why they need more ram to run it over the sistem so for the ppl that love this device buy it because i will for sure the day it on google store.. peace out ppl

The 6P uses the display from the Note 4, although the Note 4 display was Super AMOLED, the 6P display was labeled just AMOLED. This phone will be using a Samsung-made display. The name Super AMOLED is reserved for Galaxy phones.
